This popper really makes delicious popcorn that is way better than microwave popcorn.
I bought this as a gift for my husband but have used it more than him! I plan to buy several more as gifts for family members. Great product!
The popcorn to me did not taste like what you get in the theaters but none the less the pop corn popper worked very well. I look forward to using this popper again. I am rating it a 5 and not taking into account how I feel about the popcorn included.
This Pot realy works
I am glad I purchased this. It works much better than my air popper, pops nearly every kernel and pops up twice the amount that my air popper did in one batch. You may initially need to jiggle the handle when you unpack it to get it to align properly with the
Overall, I like the popcorn popper -- making homemade popcorn is both healthier and less expensive than the microwave version. However, the popper's construction is rather flimsy and doesn't seem as if it will hold up well for very long. I would happily pay more for a sturdier popper. I like the design, but honestly it could be better...
I am extremely disappointed with this product. The aluminum is probably no more than 6 plys of aluminum foil. The thing was shipped very quickly., (about 4 days afterI ordered it). I think they couldn't wait to get rid of it.. When I opened it I discovered that the wooden crank handle was rolling aaround it the box. No way
could that thing been attached to the metal crank shaft! Supposed to have had three bags of popcorn but I guess the packer thought one pack was sufficient.
Why didn,t I ship it back you ask? Well, I just figured the CONSIDERATION taken
by Whirly when they shipped this thing would only be acted upon with the same painstaking regard. Who needs even more aggravation??? TOTAL JUNK and
don't say I didn't warn you!!

We love the popcorn from this popper so much that we make it for our friends and family who in turn, buy one. We have started giving the Whirley popper for b-day gifts. With the theatre popcorn, it is a fabulous gift.
My family and I have loved this product. I had one years ago and have now found it again. It is a great product for those whol like popcorn the old fashion way.
I really do not like the quality of this popcorn maker. The metal is quite thin. It did pop the corn but clenaing it is not an easy task.It will most likely sit on my shelf and not be put to use. I'll use the ole pot to make my popcorn. The clean up is a breeze compared to this maker.
In the picture it show this item with 4 free bags of popcorn but it only comes with 1. It's a little misleading. Called to complain and was told someone would contact me and they never did. While I love the product--I don't see myself ordering from cooking.com again.
I purchased this popper to use in our camper and over the campfire. It works great, makes outstanding popcorn and is easy to use and to clean. If you register it online, the manufacturer will give you a 25-year warranty on parts and a sample / welcome kit.
I modified mine with a 27" long handle and crank to allow me to easily use it over a campfire.
LOVE IT--LOVE IT--LOVE IT!!!
This popper is wonderful. It's lightweight but durable, easy to use, easy to clean and does a GREAT job of making HEALTHY popcorn. Using this popper is fun, especially for the kids (with adult supervision of course) and eliminates the danger of chemical leeching caused from microwave bag-popped corn.
I bought a new one of these when the Nordic Ware microwave popper killed my microwave. I didn't use oil in the NW popper and that is what did it. I had one of these before and so I replaced the NW popper with this. It works best if you follow the directions. <G> I guess I had never read them before. Heat the electric element prior to putting the popper on it, no more three kernels needed.
This makes the best popcorn in the world!
My daughter loves popcorn and we don't live the flavor of the microwave stuff. This popper is a big improvement over shaking a kettle over the burner! make sure you read the directions - I had to tell the whole family that all the ingredients go into the popper before you put it on the burner and the burner is supposed to be preheated. The preheating is a little bit of an issue for us since our stovetop senses that there isn't a pot on top and then turns off/down the heating element. I am a little concerned about the thin aluminum and the plastic gears, but it has worked fine so far.
My husband has been looking for an aluminum pan with a lid off and on for years to make popcorn. He grew up with his mom making popcorn this way, and it truly was the best popcorn ever! I began the search as well for an aluminum pan and found there was no such thing anymore. Stainless is just too heavy to shake around on top of the stove. I found the Whirley Pop and began my research on it. It is lightweight, but the way it is made is solid. This will dent if you bang it in to something, so you need to treat it somewhat gently, but it is great for what it is. This company stands behind it's product and will send you parts if you have an issue later down the road. It's a good deal in the USA!
This is the best pop corn popper made. I am a die hard popcorn eater and I have been looking to get a new Whirley Pop becuase my 10+ year old one needed replacing. I noticed on teh box this time it has a replacement warranty.
Great pop corn maker.
This is the second Whirley Popcorn Popper I.ve owned. It's very simple to use and it pops nearly every kernal of the corn. Clean-up is easy.
The Popper was great but the popcorn did not taste like what you get at the theaters. They way they advertised this taste I couldn't wait to get it and make it. I was ready for my "Theater style" popcorn. What a let down. I will use the popper with my own popcorn(white kernel is the best) and butter. Thumbs up for the popper though.
