I had a previous DeLonghi toaster oven which I loved until it broke. It was sturdier and had a nicer and larger broiling pan. Also, this one ticks so loud, it's almost funny - sound like a huge alarm clock. My last one did nott make this much noise. Of course, it only lasted l4 months, so I probably should have changed brands.
We had a DeLonghi Toaster Oven, in a similar design for 18 years. It finally got very tired, and needed to be replaced. This model has a lot of the same features, but the cleaning is easier with the slide-out crumb tray. The size is also a bit larger than our old model, but it works great, looks great on the counter and most of all we love it!
Our last Toaster Oven was a DeLongi also. We had it for 17 years and it was still working. We donated it to a charity for resale.
The old oven cost more and had less features. It had no oven light, we had to pull the shelf out with a special tool which came with the oven; the crumb tray was more difficult to remove to clean.
The new oven has some type of lever which extends the shelf when the door is open. The crumb tray can be easily removed without opening the oven door.
To date, I've only used it for toast and bagels, baked one small cake.
My mother-in -law purchased this DeLonghi toaster oven for us. We are delighted with it! It is our first DeLonghi product and we are impressed with it's design and quality. The toast turns out perfect and we have toasted nuts in it as well.
The broiler is large enough and adequate to broil chicken breasts, meat, or fish. It is perfect for the two of us.
It is an attractive appliance and works great!
Excellent product that we use everyday!!
