Take-Apart Utility Shears (8.5-in.): Black by Messermeister

The concept of take-apart utility shears is great and is very handy. Unfortunately, the screw that holds the two blades together loosens very easily and has to be constantly tightened. For my uses, this isnt' a major problem, but is something to consider.

I used these to replace another excellent pair of kitchen shears made by Wusthof. They are old, well used and did not easily separate for cleaning, These have a slimmer cut profile and just the right angle near the fulcrum to cut effortlessly thru poultry bone. Easily recommended.

These shears are sharp and work very well. I especially appreciate the fact that my large hands easily fit the handles.

I was able to cut the backbone from a raw chicken very easily. I haven't used them for anything else.

Cleaning them is easy. I think the packaging says they are dishwasher safe, but they are easy to clean by hand because the two blades separate easily.

These are a great pair of utility shears esp. when your cutting a whole chicken up or for wings. The take apart for cleaning makes it all worth it. Very sharp and America's Test Kitchen highly recommends these shears. I was sold!
