Camerons Professional Stovetop Smoker allows you to smoke foods of all types right on your stove. Smoke cooking is a healthy way to infuse flavor without the use of fats, salts or oils and that means no added calories either. The Smoker allows you to hot-smoke food, a process that retains moisture and natural cooking flavors so foods don't dry out or get tough. The Stovetop Smoker works great with all meat, seafood, and poultry dishes and it transforms ordinary vegetables into delicious main courses! Larger items like turkeys or hams can be smoked as well by simply making an aluminum foil tent to cover the item when you cook it, instead of using the smoker lid. Versatile, the Camerons Smoker also doubles as a steamer for vegetables and other foods. Made of commercial-quality, stainless steel. Includes an instruction/recipe booklet, a sampler of 4 different wood smoking chips, and a stainless steel rack.

Please note: This item is not recommended for ceramic/glass top stoves.

I have used it for anything & everything! I am a southern girl temporarily in PA, once a month at the church we attend has a dinner. Just yhis past Sunday I took a double smoked Picnic ham. Just your basic Smithfield ham from Wal-mart, just before smoking I sliced some rows on top of the ham so the smoke would get further into the ham. After 1 1/2 hrs., I put a piece of the foil I was using for the cover down in a crockpot for 8hrs. on low. It just fell off the bone & again I think my southern cooking was a hit with these newly educated northerners on what southern food should taste like. I also cooked buttermilk cornbread & italian cut green beans with whole potatoes with partly fried bacon & grease plus ham juice. I will be purchasing one of these for my mama who tought me to cook!

This product was suprisingly easy to use. I purchased a salmon filet, smoked it and was amazed at the smoke flavor from such a small amount of wood chips. I can't wait to try it on beef, pork and chicken.

So far I have tried cooking boneless chicken breasts and a bone-in turkey breast (with the help of aluminum foil as a cover). The smoky taste was a little milder in the turkey breast than I would have liked, but perhaps using more chips would help fix that. Both the chicken and the turkey came out succulent, moist and tender, but they did not brown at all.

The lack of browning is the only negative I have found thus far in using the smoker; I 'll experiment with pre-browning the chicken breasts next time, or plan to use in a recipe where it doesn't matter.

I found the smoker to be very easy to use, and I really like the idea of cooking without any added fat.

I use mine on the burner attached to my outdoor gas grill so I dont get any smoky smell in the house. Any time I cook with it, people rave on the preperation. Great results in a timely manner. This is a second time purcase of this item and is a gift. Very recommended. There is a cookbook called "Smokin" that is made especially for this smoker that I would recommend as well.

I love smoked food and it was too much trouble to start the big outdoor smoker for just the two of us. The stovetop smoker works great , I had no smoke in the house and I get to enjoy smoked food again.

I was apprehensive about the idea of smoking food indoors, but have been pleasantly surprised by the minimal cooking odors and lack of actual smoke this process produces while doing a great job. In fact, the alderwood had a sweet scent. NB: we do use it with a 600 cfm vent hood, and my husband crimps some foil paper around the perimeter for a tighter seal, but honestly, average frying or grilling produce far more smoke and fumes. Have enjoyed smoked Walleye, chicken breast, and am about to try it with some venison chops. Conveys a delicate flavor to the food, enhances without overwhelming. Nice heavy gauge of stainless steel, feels solid. While product is dishwasher safe, base pan is too large to fit in my dishwasher, so still have to handwash (line with foil to save cleaning effort).

Since I've received the smoker I've used it twice for pork ribs. The first time was just so so. But, the second time (now with a little experience)....they were great! I'm looking forward to trying chicken and fish.

We have only used the smoker once, and we smoked true cod with a little lemon pepper. We found that the cooking time suggested was a little too long. The suggested time was 22 to 26 minutes. We cooked the cod for 20 minutes. My husband thought it was percect. I thought it was a little dry. The smoke flavor was wonderful. I look forward to more experimentation.

I llike the fact that the smoker can be used on top of your stove, indoors.
I would like a heavier smoke taste in the food but this product is very good.

I have been looking at this smoker for quite some time & finally decided to buy it. It was well worth the wait. I have smoked wonderful salmon, chicken, tomatoes & cheese. I love the flavor it gives the food without smoking up my whole kitchen.

I don't quite understand how it does what it does but I love it! Everything I've tried comes out beautifully and I feel it is a very healthy alternative to preparing fish, poultry and meat.

The smoker is great! I smoked a large salmon filet with the alder wood chips and it was wonderful. The flesh was moist and the smoked flavor was somewhat subtle but good. I used the smoker on a smooth-top range and it worked great. Very little smoke escaped and it did not smell up the house.

I gave this to my husband for his b'day this month. He used it to smoke fish & shrimp. The smoke flavor was intense. We enjoyed them. This product is easy to use indoors for 2 people. Pat

I first learned of this product at a party last year. A friend brought his and smoked a wonderful piece of salmon. I had to have one. It worked just as beautifully for me. I recommend this to anyone who loves the taste of smoked fish but does not want to pull out the BBQ to get it.

I asked for this item for Christmas but didn't receive one. So, I purchased it for myself. I've used my stove top smoker 3 times since receiveing it on February 10. My rack of lamb turned out superb with the oak chips. I've also cooked a flank steak & chicken leg/thighs (with hickory chips) All the meals were absolutely wonderful. But the lamb was the best. I highly recommend this product.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

With these indoor versions of outdoor smokers, families with tiny kitchens can still taste the big flavor of home-smoked treats. Shaped like stockpots and tightly sealed, stovetop smokers require far fewer woodchips than the outdoor version and generate very little residual smoke.
