Stoneware Covered Oval Casserole (4-qt.): Cherry Red by Le Creuset

Wanted to buy my Mom some various sized oval casseroles, and I wanted them to have lids, and also handles, and preferably be made in the USA. Well I quickly discovered that I could not find any US made products, so I had to abandon that idea. This was one of the few out there that filled both of the other criteria. Very nice product, beautiful color and just nothing other than good things to say about it. The price was a bit disconcerting, and I vacillated over my answer to the question, "Do you think this product is a good value for the price". But I'm expecting this will be an heirloom... provided that it does not get broken and that anyone of future generations still knows how to cook :- )

Although a bit expensive, this is a wonderful piece both for cooking casseroles and for serving at the table. I have wanted one for ages and it arrived quickly, well-padded and intact.

This is a rather large piece and being ceramic and fragile needs a good storage place. So far, I made some recipes that I saved from the casserole options on cooking.com website. All were big hits with the family.
