    red casseroval disaster
    by ALBERT, NY
    May 6, 2010

I received the Casseroval for a gift and its was beautiful to look at. When I received it I thought the lid didn't fit snuggly and debated to return it but when I called customer service they told me that was how the lid fit and so I kept it. I used it for the 1st time by making stuffed peppers. I stuffed each pepper with a rice, tomato and chopmeat receipe I added tomato sauce to the casseroval with the 6 stuffed peppers. I pre heated the oven to 350 and put the casseroval into my oven. After 1/2 hour of cooking time I was approaching my oven when I heard a popping sound. I looked into the oven and started to see a moving crack forming in the casseroval. I quickly removed the dish from the oven and was removing the lid when I noticed what looked like a whole was carved out in the inside middle of the dish. I removed the peppers to see if the missing piece was in the sauce and sure enough there it was. I threw out the meal and called customer service again and they asked if I wanted a replacement Casseroval or my money back. I opted for the refund.

    not practical

I received with the lid chipped. If it is chipped in shipping then it cannot handle normal use. I want a credit to my account. It is beautiful but not practical.

Doesn't make sense to buy this

I used this and it cracked in several places. I realized that it should only be used in the oven and not on the stove top. Why would you have a casserole/baker that you cannot brown your meat in. I wouldn't use to pans to complete the process. I returned the item and they were going to send me a new one which as of this date I have not received but I guess I wouldn't really use this as you would only use it to warm things up or bake them at a med temp. It wasn't a great buy but it was nice that the food network said they would give me a new one but I am not sure I want it.

    Stove Top Cooking
    by Teresa, FL

The only problem I have is you can not use the pot on the stove. Sometimes, I like to make one pot dishes (stove to the oven) and with this you can't. I would like to see Rachael Ray make one (non-stick) that can be used on the stove and in the oven.

I didn't know that this casserole could not be used on the stovetop as well as in the oven. It is not made clear in any of the descriptions of it online in their advertisements and I would not have bought it if I had known that. I first discovered that fact in the product insert when I received it.

    Heavy
    by Joseph, PA
    May 19, 2010

For someone who has arthritis it is extremely heavy. Otherwise, it is very nice. I really cannot carry it from the oven to the table. Sorry. Thank you for asking my opinion.

    Casseroval pot

    May 28, 2010

The product is very nice. I didn't realize when I purchased it, I could not cook on the cook top and the oven only. For this I am disappointed. I assumed it was cast iron and could be used for all cooking types.

    Lid

The lid doesn't fit well. The casserole dish is great, but if you are depending on a lid with a tight fit for whatever reason, it isn't happening.

    poor color representation
    by Linda , MD
    April 10, 2011

I love the products from Rachael Ray. The shapes are appealing and I enjoy the presentation they provide. I was disappointed in the eggplant color though as it has a definite "brown " color to it. I was overjoyed at the prospect of having the purple color as shown in the ad. However this vibrant purple is not what I got. When I wrote about this I was told it was not misrepresented. Let me assure you if you are expecting a beautiful purple color as in the photo you will be disappointed as well.

    quality
    by B., CA
    June 22, 2011

I was very surprised at the quality of my casseroval...I anticipated it would be "sturdier", i.e. something more like stoneware. However, it seems to be delicate, and I anticipate it will chip very easily. Only the color orange is available in my local stores (every store had them boxed, so could not assess the quality), so I had to order it. Do not want to pay $16 to return it.

I love the size, shape, and color of this roasting pan. As with other reviews though, I was disappointed that the lid doesn't fit tightly. There are definitely gaps on both long sides between the pot and the lid. Kind of a bummer but I didn't return it.

    White oval covered casserole
    by Gloria, WA
    March 15, 2013

The dish turned out to be much larger than I expected. Since there are just two of us now it probably won't be used unless we have company. My husband had yet another fit becuase as he says" now where are we going to store this ??" True, our house is small and finding a place for a dish this large will not be easy. I probably should't have bought it or at least bought a smaller one. I liked the fact that you could cook in it and is nice enough to serve in also. Then to place in refrig with the lid is perfect.
