Stoneware Bubble & Brown Baker Set (2-pc.): Eggplant by Rachael Ray

Unfortunately, the clay and/or glaze on these pieces is inconsistent - typical of 'cheap' pottery in the early 1900's it has many imperfections. The unglazed bottom soaked up an overspill the first time I used it and I cannot get it clean, not that anyone but me sees it! Functionally, it is good, as intended. But for $40 for the set, made in China, I would have expected more from Rachael Ray product line.

I love my Bubble and Brown set. My kitchen is cobalt and white and my dining room is cobalt and yellow so it looks beautiful on the table. That's not the best part they work wonderfully with every recipe I have used them for. The food can be served right in the baking dish and food stays warm longer being served in a 'hot' serving dish.
I use them in the winter to make individual chicken or beef pot pies.
I'm glad I watched Rachel the day she introduced them on the show.

The best thing about these baking dishes is the handles! The meal presentation is wonderful! Food doesn't really stick to the dish - I did not even have to grease the pan before making tuna noodle casserole.

THE RED COLOR IS NICE I WILL SAY THAT. THE SIDES ON ALL THE PEICES ARE TRULY TOO LOW TO PUT ANYTHING IN TO BAKE WITHOUT POSSIBLY RUNNING OVER, YOU HAVE TO BE VERY SELECTIVE! MY HUSBAND HAS COLORECTAL CANCER, FROM CHEMO TREATMENTS HE HAS NEUROPATHY IN BOTH HANDS. I PURCHASED THESE FOR EASE OF LIFTING WITH HIS HANDS SINCE THERE ARE HOLES ON THE SIDE. I THOUGHT FROM THE PHOTO'S ALL THE STONEWARE PAN HOLES WOULD FIT HIS HANDS. THEY CERTAINLY LOOK LARGER IN THE PHOTO! THE LASAGNA LOVER AND ONE LARGER OVAL DISH HAVE LARGE ENOUGH HANDLES, BUT THE BREAD LOAF PAN HAS TINY OPENINGS. I AM CONCERNED, TOO, ABOUT THE LIGHTNESS OF THE STONEWARE AS IT SEEMS IT WOULD EASILY CRACK AND BREAK. I CAN SEE THEY WILL SCRATCH UP EASILY ALREADY I'M SORRY TO SAY, ONE OF THE FOUR PIECES ORDERED ALREADY HAS A SCRATCH ON IT RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. THESE ARE PRETTY COLORS TO BE SURE, I BOUGHT THE RED. NOW IN HINDSIGHT, I REALIZE THE COLORS ARE WHAT DRAWS US IN. I LOVE RACHEL RAY'S PRODUCTS, I HAVE ALL THE COLORS IN THE GARBAGE BOWLS AS WELL AS SOME OF THE OTHER GREAT ITEMS SHE HAS HER NAME ON. HOWEVER, FOR WHAT THIS STONEWARE COSTS, IT IS TOO LIGHT AND POROUS FOR THE MONEY. ALSO, IT BECOMES EASILY STAINED ON THE BOTTOM QUICKLY. THERE IS NO GLAZED FINISH TO KEEP OILS AND SAUCES FROM SEEPING IN. BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU SET IT DOWN! I DO TRY TO DESCRIBE ALL ACCURATELY, NO SOUR GRAPES, JUST WANT MY REVIEW TO BE OF WORTH TO A PERSON RESEARCHING BEFORE THEY BUY. MY PIECES CAME WITH MOST OF THEM HAVING A BAD BURST SPOT ON THE BOTTOMS IN DIFFERENT PLACES ON EACH PIECE, AS WELL. THEY ARE LIKE BURST CRACKS FROM A KILN. SHOULD THEY BE LIKE THAT? I CANNOT GO TO A UPS STORE TO RETURN AS IT IS NOT CONVENIENT. YOU DO NOT PICK UP. I FRANKLY DO NOT HAVE THE TIME AND ENERGY TO BOTHER WITH THAT. THAT IS WHY I ORDER ON LINE. JUDITH

The bottom of the baker stained with red sauce when I put in the sink to soak and I cannot get stain off white bottom. Only used it once so far. Looks so cool when Rachel uses, but I don't care for staining.

I love the look of the product, BUT I was very disappointed to read " made in China" on the box. I do not buy cookware or dishes made in China as many experts state there is no real way to know what is in it. I, like many, would be happy to pay more for a product made in the USA. Please give this due consideration! I love Rachel and hope she gives some thought to putting quality over profit. THanks for the opportunity to voice my opinion.

Althought I think this product is a good value and the design is so pleasing to the eye...it breaks very easily. After my first use last weekend the handle shattered on my larger bubble & Brown dish .

I THOUGHT THEY WERE BIGGER. MY FAULT FOR NOT LOOKING AT THE SIZE. THESE DISHES ARE NOT VERY USEFUL FOR THE AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD. I JUST ASSUMED THEY WERE WHAT WE SAW ON TV,

The only problem I find is the bottom is porous and after one use it has stains from the sauce, I did not cook in it, I only used it to serve. I am wondering what it is going to look like after more usage. I don't like my serving dishes, pots and pans to look dirty.

I find those baking dishes easier to remove from the oven. The handles make it safer to remove them from the oven with oven mitts. I have arthritis in my hands and hot dishes can slip easily out of your grip with out the handles. So, as far as I am concerned, the handles are a big safety factor.

Wanted orange but had to settle for blue. Blue is my husbands favorite color so when he had to settle for blue when he ordered my Christmas present, he really didn't mind. Enough about color, 'cause color doesn't really matter.
I used both of the pans for cooking Christmas dinner and they were GREAT. Two of my children and their families were home and they were very pleased with the results.
I have a physical problem with not being able to grasp easily and the way the handles are made on this bake set was really good for me. I am 61 years old and love to cook. I watch Rachael Ray as well as other shows and this has to be the best find I have made in a long time.

These bakers look shallow on the sides in the picture, but I was surprised to see just how shallow they are in person. Also, after the first use, my daughter was washing it and it barely bumped the side of the sink. It chipped the edge and made a small, but dangerous crack in the handle. I think it can not be lifted by that handle again or it may break. I feel the quality of the stoneware and glaze are not good.

My hands are disabled, and these bakers are made to order for me. They aren't too heavy, and have those convenient hand-holds. I'm getting rid of my old baking pans.

The different size bubble brown's had bubbles in the cooking surface. I have'nt
tried to cook in them yet. I really wanted the orange color, but settled for the next best color-yellow. Surface finish is not good. But I kept them because I love Rachael Ray.

This item was ordered with the larger 3-qt. Orange Exclusive Bubble & Brown Large Baker , and in what I can only think was an idea of some to save a little on the shipping cost this item was taken out of it normal box that it is ship in and place on top of the larger baker's box and surround by air pillows. The results was that by the time it travel from California to New Jersey the 2 piece set was now 7 pieces. This resulted having to ship the pieces back to California and having a second shipment delivered. I don't know if consolidating the shipment was a company policy or someone in the shipping departments idea, but because of the damage in shipping it probably cost more to do the return and second shipment than was save by trying to consolidate the shipping. And since the two sets were a birthday gift, the second delivery did not make it in time for the event. Being involve with shipping / receiving I understand consolidating shipment but if the fagile items are remove from the protective packaging it only create's the problems that I have stated. I hope this asist your company in addressing this problem. Thank You.

The design is great and the large handles make it so easy to take out of the oven. The clean up was a breeze and the great orange color was like having a bit of the sun in my oven.

I like the three different sizes and different colors. And what I really like is the big holes so that I can pick it real easy even if it is really hot. And I like the style of these dishes. They would look real pretty on a table and would probably be real easy to clean too. And also I like the fact that they can put into not just the oven but the microwave and then on the table. And if need be the freezer. So they are very versatile. I really like this bakeware. And other things that I have ordered from her site. And yes I would recomment this product to others. And yes I do think that it is value for the price. I am very happy with it.

These are the best casserole dishes I've ever had and I've had plenty in my 58 years. They are easy to handle and easy to clean -I requested them as a birthday present and my daughters were thrilled to be able to get me something I wanted.

At first I was a bit uncomfortable with the oval design, but it easily accomodated fish and pretty soon my old rectangular ties were undone!
