I wish I'd known about this mixer before I bought my blender and food processor. This thing does it all! If the food processor attachments work as well as the free standing Cuisinart food processor it's a great deal.
In the short time I've had this mixer I've only mixed cakes and frostings. The bowl doesn't spin but, surprisingly, I haven't had to scrape the sides of the bowl like I thought I would. The mixer blades, whisks, etc. seem to do the trick. So far, so good. I have a big baking project due this week so will get more practice. I'll keep you posted. It is a beautiful design. Adds to the kitchen decor and slides perfectly under the cabints. I would buy it again.
We recently purchased two Cuisinart 5.5 Qt. Brushed Stainless Stand Mixers for our children who were getting married this year. They are both delighted with the purchase and we know they will enjoy them for many years to come. The product's reputation and price are second to none.
I recently returned to the US after 40 years on an island in the Pacific. My only experience had been with a hand-held mixer. After a brutal experience making Pizza Bianca and several with labor intensive cookie making, I started shopping around.

My original intention was to get a Kitchen Aid (because my AmEx card offers them for bonus points). But my resource on the Internet reccommended Cuisinart. And I love it.

I am going to lose muscle tone. Creaming butter and sugar is dreamlike. Meringues and souffles are only several minutes in the making. Bread dough prep is now more observation than hard work. We have been having lots of cookies.

It also comes with a very good cookbook, which is an easy way to learn its various handy abilities.

I'm in love.

GES
Overall, the mixer is good -- low sound level, great timer. The only drawback is that larger batches go over the top of the mixing paddle/whip, because they fit down into the bowl quite a ways. It works best for smaller batches. If I was purchasing again, knowing this, I would have bought the larger model.
I love this stand mixer! It's the first I've ever owned and I don't know why I waited so long! It was a toss up between this one or a KitchenAid. I finally went with this one because it carries a longer warranty and I liked the attachments a little better. I have two small children and they keep me busy so I have to say that the one feature I wasn't sure mattered much...the timer...is one of my favorite features. When I'm mixing something for a specified length of time and I get called away by one daughter or the other the mixer stops when the timer does...it has already saved many a meal!
