Great cooking tool!

We're of Hungarian descent and my son, daughter and I all regularly make chicken paprikash with dumplings. The old way was to chip the batter off the side of a bowl into hot water. When making a big batch, this gets tedius and the dumplings keep getting bigger. I bought a circular spaetzle maker, and although it made the job easier, it was so hard to clean that it ended up being the same amount of work. This sapetzle maker is easy to use, makes adorable little dumplings in no time (even triple batches) and cleans up effortlessly. I bought one and then bought two more for my kids. At this price, you should give it a try.

It is impossible to make spaetzle without this tool. As a native Hungarian, now a citizen of this country, grew up on noodles shaped like spaetzle, thanks to the internet, I was able to find you. Now I can have my goulash with spaetzle (in German) dumplings (in America) nokedli (in Hungary)

I purchased this as it seemed to be a less expensive alternative to a food mill.. I guess its true "you get what you pay for".. the first one arrived bent and unusable as it would stick in the track.. Cooking.com sent another right away.. while this one is better I dont think this is nearly as good for spaetzel as a food mill, at least for me.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Lasagna is the perfect make-ahead meal because it freezes and reheats beautifully. After baking, let it rest and freeze in whole or individual portions.
