Triple ply bonded construction and full cladding is the secret to even heat distribution across the bottom and up the sides. With the roaster’s three-inch high sidewalls, there is plenty of room for fond to develop while juices are safely contained. Rounded corners make scraping loose bits or whisking gravies exceptionally simple. Pouring off liquids from any angle is easily accomplished with the rolled rim to reduce drips. Permanent riveting also contributes to a secure grip even when the pan is loaded to full capacity. Remove the rack and the All-Clad pan is ready for a larger roast complete with surrounding vegetables.

The pan cooked my Thanksgiving Turkey to perfection and in less time than when using a lighter and less expensive roaster. Cleanup was a breeze and I feel that the quality of this roaster was well worth the price I paid and unlike the cheaper versions, I intend to have this one in my kitchen for a very long time.

I've wanted a roasting pan like this for a long time, sturdy, heavy and well-engineered. What I didn't count on was how heavy it would be with a large turkey in it, almost impossible for me to lift out of the oven and place on top of the stove, or even to move it around safely in a very hot oven. Also, lifting and moving would be easier if the horizontal part of the handles canted OUTWARD, rather than inward. You have to really stick your fingers way into the space between the pan and the handle to get a good grip, and with a potholder it was very tight indeed. Far be it for me to criticize All-Clad, but I was a little let down by the pan's drawbacks.

The only thing I wasn't aware of when I ordered this was how heavy the pan was. It is MUCH heavier than the Calphalon roaster I had been using and I thought that one was heavy.

BUT....it roasts beautifully and cleans up in a snap. As a busy cook you can't beat that!

The Cadillac of roasting pans--and with the rack and turkey lifters at cooking.com's bargain price, a real value. All Clad has the best customer service ever, too.

Very good pan for turkeys. Cleans up very easy. The forks worked great. At first I had my doubts but they lifted the turkey easy.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

You'll see chicken in the supermarket labeled as broiler-fryer, roaster, or stewing. These terms describe the size, not necessarily concrete rules for their best cooking method. You can stew, fry, or roast any size of chicken, though big roaster chickens can be a little difficult to broil.
