I purchased this as a gift to replace a friend's old aluminum model that had pitted badly over time the same reason I got myself one a few years earlier. It will not pit, and provides a safe and easy method for cooking meats and vegetables quickly.
This is a very nice pressure cooker, great for cooking a whole meal for two people, or a main course for 4.
If you are looking for a place to store the sealing ring when not in use, it fits nicely around the outside of the pot.
You can get extra mileage out of your pressure cooker by using the bottom pan section as a saucepan when cooking larger quantities on the stovetop.
