The Smart Stick Hand Blender is better than I thought it would be. The first time I used it was on some whole cherry tomatoes that I wanted to puree after they were cooked. I had the option of using my Cuisinart blender before cooking or waiting until the mixer cooled, but tried the Smart Stick while it was hot and in the pan. Wow. It not only took care of the "meat" of the tomatoes, but pureed the skins as well. The result was a perfect smooth sauce that I turned into a sugar-free BBQ sauce. I totally love this little gadget (and the fuschia color I ordered was a fun addition to my kitchen).

This is great for someone that has never used a stick blender. I've been using one for many years, so for me it was not the best. I have a Cuisinart stick blender with multiple attachments and variable speeds. I bought this one because it was blue and matched my kitchen. Gave the old grey one to my helper. After one use of the blue one, I was unhappy with the way it mixed my protein shake (just powder and water). After the second use I was on the phone asking to trade her for my old one. She willingly agreed. She's very happy with this one, and was puzzled about what my problem was. "It wasn't powerful enough." She thought it was just fine, she's a first time user. Great for her. Not so much for me.

Great when cooking soups -- blends into a puree without having to ladle in small batches in your food processor or blender -- just do it in the pot!

Great product, especially for the price.
