This matte gray slotted spatula from Matfer is flexible so it can lift and turn delicate fish, omelets, and other sautéed foods without injuring them. Modeled after the traditional stainless steel fish spatula, with its full-length 4 1/2" slots for draining fat and angled front edge for better maneuvering, this is the “next generation” version, made from synthetic materials that won't damage our modern nonstick surfaces. The handle is grooved for a better grip and ends with a wide notch for hanging.
This spatula is great. It's very thin, but strong. I initially got it to use on my nonstick skillets, but the high temp rating allows me to use it in my cast iron and stainless as well. It’s wide enough for cookies and eggs and pancakes, however the tapered end even allows me to cut butter and add it while cooking.
this was the top rated spatula reviewed by Cook's
love, love, love this slotted spatula! have used it for flipping fish, removing cookies while baking, serving up enchiladas, etc. it's really an all-purpose spatula!
Use it every day
I bought this product to flip delicate foods (fish on grill, omelets, etc) and it has worked well. It is firm enough to flip, and thin enough to slip easily under food. I was worried about it melting on a hot grill, but no problem. It is highly rated by Cooks Illustrated as a Best Value over spatulas costing $60, and I see no reason to pay the extra money, unless you need to use all-metal tools!
I wasn't sure about ordering on line, but once receiving this spatula and after using it, it's the first spatula I grab for whatever I am cooking. It is a great tool to have for your kitchen.
This spatula does it all. It's easy to hold, slides underneath eggs, potatoes, anything I'm frying I can safely and very effectively use this tool. It's strong and sharp but safe for the pan. For things you want to form a crust, this tool slides under, rather than being too soft or dull to handle the job. Also, one can angle it for greater surface use. I wish I had bought 2 of them rather than the other spatula I did get, 13" nonstick slotted turner by WMF USA (it was made in China)
Very good for anything, not just fish--ok in non-stick skillet, and very thin edge makes it easy to get under things. I also bought some for gifts for my family members.
My sister gave me one of these and I loved it enough to buy two more.
I had two in my motor home and they disapeared so I am back to buy more. My problem is trying to get my children to leave them at my house instead of them taking them home.
This slotted spatula is the perfect size for turning everything from bacon to pancakes, and it doesn't scratch my pans or griddle!
I originally bought one for use with a non-stick skillet, but it became what I reach for all the time. I've included one of these in the box of cooking gadgets I've given to each of my nieces when they set up their first kitchen.
This works very well for turning and moving fish and other delicate foods. It keeps the food intact, but it's sturdy enough that it doesn't bend from weight or heat. I have one, but I think it would be more useful to buy two, so you would have one under the food and one on top. That would make turning very delicate fish even easier, and would keep the food from flaking or breaking when it turns over.
Love this spatula. It is the best I have ever used. Had to buy another one because a family member insisted on having one and took mine. Wish it was less expensive. If it were, I would buy them as gifts for all my friends and family. Price is a little high for what it is, I think.
Every summer my mother -in- law stays with us, all my non-stick pans need to be tossed. Stay tuned for further evaluation if I don't need to toss them this year. I wish the edge was a little thinner - MiL makes Norwegian pancake several times a week, so I really can't complain about a few pans every year.
Got to be used in a non-stick frypan. So far has handled everything I've cooked, from sauted fish filets to omelets extremely well.
This is the best spatula I have ever used. It is flexible and is great for turning omelets. The high heat resistance is a plus and it is great for non-stick pans.
I truely love the Pelton Spatula . It is all that you said that is was and then some. The best part is that it is easy to wash by hand , or as I do a lot of the time just throw it in the dish washer . I just wished that you would make on for the left hand . There are a lot of us cooks that are left handed . I watch the Food Network and see several of them are left handed . So do me and several other cooks a favor and make one for us . THANK YOU .
I replaced all my spatulas with this one and I love it! It does a great job with eggs and fish!
Was looking for a spatula with this design to use when cooking fish. It is wonderful, I am very pleased with how much easier it it to turn my fish and other items I am cooking.
Was a little skeptical as have been disappointed by this kind of spatula before but this one is great!
