Sharpen both your standard knives and your Asian-style knives with the Wusthof 4-stage knife sharpener.
The standard sharpener uses carbide blades set at 28° or 14° per side to sharpen standard knives. Stage 2 of the standard side uses ceramic rods to hone a fine edge on your blade. Simply slide the cover over to Asian Knives to sharpen your Asian knives to a 20° angle or 10° angle per side. The V-shaped cutting head with two crossed carbide blades puts a quick edge on knives. Stage 2 uses ceramic rods to hone the fine edge of your Santoku or Nakiri knives.
Simply place the gadget on a flat work surface and hold the E-Z grip handle with one hand and the knife handle with the other. Insert the knife blade fully into the slot at a 90° angle to the sharpener and pull down and back three to four times to sharpen. After setting the knife's edge with the carbide side, use the unit's ceramic side to nicely finish the edge.
I really recommend this Wustof knife sharpener. It is much easier to use than a steel, has sturdy construction, and sharpens flat or serrated blades (Asian style). I would strongly recommend it as a great value.
It is sturdy, sharpens two different kinds of knifes, the side for the orental blade is hard to find any where else.
I am an 88yr old retired MD. MY hobby is cooking .
Over the years I have used many electric models, including professional providers, with only partial success. I am very pleased with my new Wusthof sharpener ! Wyley E. Eaton, MD
This sharpener was purchased to replace another Wusthof sharpener. It has notches for Asian knives, which increases its usefulness. The Wusthof sharpeners have been the best I have found, with a good handle and two types of sharpening slots, coarse and fine. The resulting edge is very sharp and even.
This knife sharpener is versatile and easy to use. It works great with my Guy Fieri knives!
