Wouldn't it be nice if dinner could be ready when you are? It can be with a slow cooker and one of the 120 delicious recipes from Semi-Homemade Slow Cooking 2. Keeping to her formula of simple and quick, Sandra Lee presents recipes that taste like you spent hours in the kitchen. From traditional slow cooker menus that cover hearty soups, stews and chilis, Sandra introduces One-Pot Meals, 5-Ingredient Dishes, Poultry, Meat, and Desserts that all can be slow cooked to perfection.
It would have been helpful if I could have seen sample recipes, via internet, before purchasing the book. I am not an experienced cook. I also live in a rural area that is extremely limited on cooking items/supplies. It would have helped to see what items were in recipes before purchase.
Again, very well done. Excellent diversity. A fine sequel to Semi-Homemade Slow Cooker Recipes 1. Add discussion on braising or not braising raw meats possibly? Another discussion on the value of having a well stocked pantry? Both publications well worth the money.
I love this cookbook! It's easy to follow great recipes for the slow cooker-which is even better. My family loves all the meals I've been making and it couldn't be easier or quicker for me. I especially love the pictures of each recipe-I dislike cookbooks without pictures because you can't see if it looks good enough to make or not. So, a picture with every recipe in htis cookbook is great. I really like Sandra Lee's show too! The extra tips she gives go a long way. Thanks
this really makes cooking good meals easy especially when i must work late and can't get home in time to cook a good meal.
What can I say about Sandra Lee? Great cookbook!! The second one I have bought and I'm looking for others! Slow Cooker Recipes are the way to go for a working Nana!
i only found about 3 receipes is this book that i would even try. I was disappointed in this book and sent it back.
I purchased this as a gift for my daughter who is a busy working mother and wife. For our new year day dinner she made a desert that was outstanding and we all were enjoying this treat, she kept expressing how easy it was. She's looking forward to doing a chocolate beef stew. She's so excited with this book and that worth the purchase. I'm thing of getting this for myself.
I haven't had c hance to prepare any of the recipes yet but just after glancing through the recipes don't seem as appealing as I hoped when I ordered.
This book as so many great recipes!! We have been working our way through the book trying different ones and have enjoyed everything we've made so far! Definetly a keeper!
The receipes are so easy to follow and with Sandra's hints of ingredients to buy make this a great cookbook along with her others. I really enjoy using the cookbooks she has written and my family loves the outcome. Thank You, Gloria Schafer
A lot of easy recipes with ingredients which will not be hard to find in my local grocery store
I have made several of the meals for myself and others. Everyone said that they were excellant!
OK, I am a cookbook junkie. But, when I use the cookbook and, more importantly, have good success with the recipes, well that says it all. I have tried a few of the recipes so far, and they have been just great. The Thanksgiving Dinner was really good. Although it didn't look like much...that could have been because I cooked it much longer than I was supposed to...It tasted very good.
The recipes are clear, not fussy, and the pictures are sharp and make one want to try them all. Stating the size crock pot to use is very helpful.
Cooking for two older adults for Thanksgiving is so hard to do. Sandra offers a Thanksgiving in a crockpot recipe that is perfect. Minimum leftovers and all the tastes of the holiday.
I am a non-cook, and I found several recipes that I think I can handle! Looking forward to trying them out.
100 times better than Paula.
I have type 2 diabetes and am always looking for better ways for healthy meals. I like what Sandra Lee does with the crock pot. I watch her when possible. I would love to be able to go over to house and eat supper one day. As long as it's not clams or shrimp. The only seafood I like is fish. But I do like Sandra. She really seems like a very sweet person.
Thought it would have more "home made down to earth" slow cooker recipes. Looks like it has a few good ones though.
Love this cookbook - The recipes are easy to prepare, many need only a few everyday items and the food is awesome. I would and have recommended this book and have passed on a few of the recipes. Will plan to pick up any other slow cooker recipe books she puts out.

Salmon is delicious, healthy, and oh-so-easy to prepare. Here's what you need to know about shopping for it: Wild salmon is deep red in color and has a richer taste. Farmed salmon is pinker, milder and much less costly. If you can buy wild salmon, definitely opt for it.
