Roto Slicer-Shredder Attachment by KitchenAid

The Roto-Slicer Attachment was a big disappointment. I returned the item yesterday. It made cole-slaw type slices out of all my vegetables! The two slicing blades did not make a difference in the slices. I have since bought a slice-o-matic, costing $19.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond, with a $5.00 off coupon. The slicer may be manual, but it works! I previously, before the Kitchen Aid, owned the old mixer, I believe by Kenmore, with all the attachments and it did a wonderful job! For a Kitchen Aid mixer and the cost of it, it is not a purchase I would do again!

this slicer is only good for grating cheese and slicing very hard vegetables. It shreds all the vegetables and mutalates them! It is not sharp and will not slice without tearing the food apart. I would not recommend this product! I even called the company to see if I was doing something wrong and they told me that it will work best only on very hard vegatables/cheeses.

This product shreds cheese and vegetables very well, but the slicing is problematic. It mashed a cucumber to soup, sliced a potato too thinly and was overall, far less efficient than any appliance I was to replace it with. We will be downsizing and I was looking for a sub. for my grater and mandoline

This shredder attachment is cumbersome, difficult to install and use. Feed chute is poorly designed, hard to load food. Shredding is ok but slicing vegetables results in uneven messy slices, if you can call them slices. Harder still to take apart. Better off using food processor attachments or salad shooter.
