Roto Slicer-Shredder Attachment by KitchenAid

We have had nothing but positive experiences with Kitchenaid products. We debated over replacing our first food processor (Kitchenaid) with another food processor, or with the accessories for
our Professional 6 mixer. The Kitchenaid food processor worked
great during the upbringing of five children, and the inevitable abuse
that children inflict on any kind of appliance or tool. We are sending
the food processor in for repair, and we also purchased the accessories for the big mixer. We have situations where both will be
used at the same time. Great products, service, and value.

I grew up with the Kitchen Aid Roto Slicer-Shredder and have missed it ever since I left home. We had a large family so shredding things like cheese, potatoes, zucchini etc... was way too much work with a hand grater. The Slicer- Shredder saves your hands from nicks you can get hand shredding and it takes just seconds !
My husband and I enjoy it now for shredding soft and hard cheeses (ie: Parmesean) and I just used it for the first time to shred fresh ginger and it worked beautifully.

Only used a couple of times to grate foods. Easy to use and cleanup.

The only problem I have is getting the cone detached from the piece that holds it in the mixer. I always need to use pliers to twist it.

The end result of this product is good. The problem is the design. I have to use a pliers to remove the disc from the shredder when I'm done. It clamps on so tightly that I can not remove it by hand. I consider that a major hassle. Otherwise, it is a good product.
