Pumpkin Gooey Cake (2.1-lb.) by Paula Deen

This cake was described as taking a while to make, so order early & then it arrived just two days after the order was placed. It was frozen when it showed up or "deeply chilled" as The Chessecake Factory says. While that is not generally a problem for me, in this case it was. Sometime in this cakes checkered past it had not been frozen and it had been poorly handled. The pumpkin? topping had all been slid over to about one third of the top, compacted & frozen again. Needless to say it did have not the eye apealing look of your product picture! Even after thawing it out for three hours it proved reluctent to be manipulated into the correct form. The taste was good, on the side that actually had the pumpkin on it though? It was not served to the guests.

That was the dryest cake I've ever eaten. No kidding. It must have been old. Nothing "gooey" about it. And as far as pumkin goes,the top was orange colored, but had no pumkin flavor. We really got took on this one. Stay away. A $5 Sara Lee has this one beat.

This was a unique dessert. We wanted a different choice for our Thanksgiving table and found it with the Pumpkin Gooey Cake. It was delicious and Presented very well. I would order this item again. The packaging and shipping were done well and on time.

Not happy with this product. there was very little pumpkim in the cake, more cakey. i alway make this for my family at Thanksgiving, but decide to take it easy this year. Well I will be going back to baking it myself. disappointing.
