Just wish I had gotten the 12 cup model. Ten cups of weekend coffee goes pretty fast. My hands are crippled due to rheumatoid arthritis so the metal carafe/pot is a blessing as I was breaking the glass pots with came with other coffee maker brands. I am also less likely to burn myself with this insulated carafe versus a hot glass carafe. The carafe also has a secure lid that won't allow hot coffee to splash out onto my hands, feet, or floor should I bump into something. The metal thermos pot was my primary reason for choosing this coffee maker. My coffee stays hot without an energy wasting burner that just distills coffee down into something akin to motor oil! A bit more complicated than other coffeemakers at first. Taping a "que card" with the instructions and coffee/water measurements to the inside of the cabinet door in front of the cups helps resolve this problem.
difficult to pour entire pot of water in very small space. pot after coffe is made does not stay "hot" after brewing.
A great coffee maker...problem..will not keep coffee hot..
The thermal keeps the coffee hot for hours without leaving a funny taste. It doesn't have a hint of burned coffee like burners often do. I can make 8 cups in the morning and enjoy a hot cut at noon. It does seem to work better if you rinse out the pitcher with hot water before brewing. The filter seems to help out as well. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Best money spent all year.
Love the appliance. Wish you didn't have to warm the carafe before making the coffee. Makes excellent coffee.

Coffee tastes best when made with freshly ground beans, but we know it's not always a reality to be able to grind your beans every morning- especially if people in the house are still trying to sleep! Instead, try grinding beans once or twice a week in the evening, then storing in the fridge in an airtight container.
