This professional grade cutting board is excellent. In fact, I should have bought the next size larger. I use it every day, sometimes all day long, and it's a pleasure to slice meats, vegetables, cheeses and condiments on it. Cleans up quickly. I did put rubber shelf lining under the slab to stop it from sliding on my counter top. I would recommend it to anyone, whether they are professional or not.

The cutting board is great. It is heavy and does not move around when cutting. The quality is top notch. The only bad tyhing is that they give you no instructions on how to care for it after use. Other than that it id great.

I gave the cutting board as a gift that was on her wish list. She was blown away and thought it was awesome.

I had been looking everywhere for a substantial wooden chopping block and was unable to find one that was sturdy, attractive, well-made and non-slipping until I researched on-line and the only one that was suitable was this one from Food Network. I use it almost daily and because it is attractive I leave it out on my counter. Very easy to clean. When I first received it, I used an oil meant for wooden chopping/cutting boards that is food friendly and would help preserve the block for years to come, and of course, make it easier to wipe clean. Once I did that (which is very simple, you just pour some of the oil on the board and spread the oil over the board, wait five minutes then wipe off the excess), I was ready to chop and cut away with my veges, fruits and nuts. Clean up was a snap and my food tasted and looked beautiful. I usually prepare salads several times a week for my husband and me, and we entertain friends at least twice a week, so my board gets used alot, and it still looks new. One of the reasons I wanted a wooden block was to preserve the life of my knife blades. If you don't have a wooden chopping board, I highly recommend this one, and if you do, you probably could use another. You won't be disappointed. Well worth the investment! I feel like a chef when I prepare my meals now...just call me "Chef Monica"

Was exactly what I was looking for.

I've had many wooden cutting boards that eventually warp or crack. This thing is solid! It's like a beautiful piece of furniture in my kitchen. This is something you can pass down to your kids. Love it!

Looks every bit as good as it does in the picture, if not better! The various colors in the "checker" pattern really contrast nicely. I bought it for my wife's Christmas present, and she just loves it. Got the 18x18 size because I wanted a perfect square. The missus likes to put it over our sink to create some extra counter space, a little trick she picked up from Rachel Ray. As some reviewers have already mentioned, it IS very heavy...but how often are you gonna move it? Highly recommend it; it'll really add a touch of class and beauty to any kitchen.

Slab looks beautiful on my kitchen island and my husband and I can now share a cutting board as we cook Food Network receipes together each weekend.

This is a beautiful cutting board and very sturdy. I wish care instructions had been included with it but other than that am very happy with purchase.

I had no idea how heavy this butcher block is but it's worth ever penny. I love using it and it cleans up nicely. Glad I bought it.

I expected good quality from the Professional version of the Slab and it defiantly delivered. The 18x18x3 footprint provides a nice working surface with good stabilization with the 3" height. This height also accentuates the natural wood grain at a fare distance, this is a classy cutting slab. The wood end configuration with various sizes and cuts are square and tight on all surfaces of the Slab. The Slab is finely sanded and once oiled took on a rich deep appearance like the Slabs commonly used on the food network. I was a bit concerned with the description of "various types of Hardwood" but after several weeks of use I am convinced quality hardwood has been used.

awesome chopping block for my new kitchen I just love it!

I love it, but it's so heavy. That's the only draw-back. If you want to pick it up & clean it in the sink, it's a little too heavy. Otherwise it's a great product. Beautifully made. I always love wood for this purpose.
