Fantastic book. Very informative.
I purchased the book for my wife who is the culinary expert in our household. See start reading the book written by Toba Garrett as soon as I removed it from the shipping package. My wife read the first two chapters and immediately started talking about what she had read. My wife finds the book well written and also, finds the illustrations very clear and helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in cake decorating.
I am fairly new to cake decorating and this book has already given me several great ideas for decorating. I have used seveal. Not a lot of pictures, but it gives detailed instructions and tells you what you should have learned at the end of each chapter. Good recipes and detailed plans. I would recommend this product to anyone.
Very few usable pictures. Instructions are not very clear. Overall not a very good decorating book. There are a lot of good recipes in the back, but these can be found in other books that are put together much better.

When measuring flour, you'll want to do it carefully as to not mess up the proportions of your recipe. Use a spoon or scoop to loosely fill a solid measuring cup with flour, mounding in the center. Then, use a knife to scrape the excess off from the top. (Hint: instead of just brushing it into the garbage, save this excess flour to use on your work surface later on.)
