Great beginners cookbook for my college-age kids! Thinking of getting more for my nieces & nephews for Christmas.
This is an excellent resource for a new bride or a young person getting his or her own home for the first time.
I liked this book so much when I bought one for a gift so I ordered one for me. BUT mine came in not perfect condition....the paper cover was torn and the front corner was dented in some. But it is good enough for me. I was just a bit disappointed.
I could have some more basics, but overall - very good!
As a new cook this book provided answers to so many of the questions that I had.It was so easy to use as detailed instructions were provided. My favorite thing was it telling seasons for produce this way you can always get the best in season.

Contrary to what you might think, a sharp knife is actually safer than a dull knife. The important thing to remember when chopping and cutting is to let the knife do the work for you. A sharp knife allows you to do that, but a dull knife requires you to exert more pressure to get the job done, which means your hand has a greater chance of slipping.
