This will be given as a house-warming gift to friends who just purchased a place in the Caribbean. I looked at several books with Caribbean cooking as the theme before I decided on this one. The price was great for the large scope of recipes. Although I have not cooked from it, I noticed that it makes overall recommendations, such as various types of fish can be used for a particular recipe. I liked this, as not all types of fish are available everywhere. The recipes are uncomplicated, but original. Ingredients look like they will be available, even in the somewhat remote place my friends will be. I am selfishly looking forward to cooking from this book when I finally get to visit them in the tropics!
