This book does just what it says - guide people into cooking great food. You'll find some excellent versions of home favorites like burgers, spaghetti, etc. But I was also pleased to find Thai and other ethnic dishes in here. I especially like the page on making different curry pastes. I rate myself as an intermediate cook and think this book will add a lot to my culinary arsenal. It will do wonders for beginners and the pictures help a lot.
This collection gives us the background and philosophy behind the type of cooking Jamie has been doing from the begining. Now he has had time to think thru what he was doing.
