I use my mixer a lot making cakes and frosting for family occasions and the shield is wonderful when adding ingredients to the mixer.
I already have this pouring shield. I purchased two for Christmas gifts.
I usually cook for my husband or my family but sometimes cook for groups of 15 to 100.
I really like the pouring shield. I can easily pour my ingredients in while the mixer is operating whereas prior to using the shield I had to interrupt the mixing process to add ingredients.
I bought this for a friend living in Canada simply based on my own usage of this product. I found it helpful and when he and I spoke I told him I was ordering it for him. Only thing was the uncertainty of size but we got it right. He should be taking it back on the plane with him at the end of the month,

If you're nervous about making homemade pie dough because of the difficulty of incorporating the butter into the flour, try using a food processor- it does a fantastic job. Pulse sparingly just until the butter and flour are in pea-size lumps, then add enough ice water for the dough to come together. However, be careful not to let it run too long, or you'll end up with creamed butter.
