We have been buying, drinking and loving Perugia ground coffee for several years, but the latest order we received is nothing like the coffee we have brewed in the past. It has little or no flavor, and is not any better than any off-the-shelf coffee brand that would sell at a much lower price. We have to wonder what has gone wrong at Torrefazione Italia to produce such a bland and unrewarding product?
For anyone who has tried the Pisa Blend, but think its too strong - this would be your choice. A bit milder than Pisa, but still has a nice bold flavor.
I have been a Torrefazione fan since I first tried it in 1995 up North and I got the Perugia because cooking.com doesn't carry the regular Milano, which used to be my favorite blend. I am not a Starbucks fan and never will be. I buy coffee from a roast-to-order place now for only $12.00 a pound (including shipping) but if the price of Tor. ever came down I would order it regularly. Since I was ordering a new Braun I thought I'd get this as a treat since the shipping was free.
Shipping expensive
From the time I was first introduced to Torrefazione (about 15 years ago), I knew that this was something special. My wife and I have discussed this and we agree that the only thing that matches up favorably to this is the drink one gets at an espresso bar in the heart of Roma!!!
