What I could tell by the picture on the website, this pan looked black, that is what I wanted. The invoice said black as well, but the pan is a navy blue. I called the vendor and was told it does not come in black. I was somewhat disappointed as black is my color scheme, but I wanted the pan anyway and settled with the blue. So if you are looking for a black pan this is not what it appears to be.

First, I want to explain why I didn't give this a 5 star. About a week after I had the pan, I went to hand wash, as normal, and noticed about a 1-2 inch piece of the enamel came off near the rim of the pan. I am extremely careful with my cookware, so I know this was just a defect from the makers. I've had a 12qt. Le Creuset for over 4yrs. now and it still looks great as the day I bought it, minus a few minor scratches on bottom from normal use. No chipping at all. I would have shipped this Paella pan back to have it replaced, but, shipping is extremely high on a product that is this heavy and I had already thrown out the box it came in because I knew this was the pan I wanted to keep as soon as I saw it. I LOVE enameled cast iron cookware and I am overeall pleased with this pan though. I love the 14 inches of cooking space, the excellent heat distribution, and of course, the price. Try and find this size of a enameled cast iron pan for $89 anywhere else. I haven't been able to yet. I've done everything in this pan from sauteing to deep frying and it cleans up beautifully. This pan is also good-looking enough to stay sitting out on the stove. Overall, I would recommend this pan to anyone...as a matter of fact, I already have!
