Product Description:
Since 1925, artisans at Le Creuset have been making richly enameled cast iron cookware in the French village of Fresnoy-le-Grand. Each piece from their line is individually created, coated, fired and inspected in order to bring you the finest quality cookware-to-tableware available. The cast iron construction is superior to other cookware because it absorbs and retains heat more efficiently as you braise and stew your vegetables and meats. The French Oven is fitted with 2 loop handles and comes with a tight-fitting lid that seals in the moisture. Oven-safe to 450 degrees F.

Yes, I love this Dutch oven. It performs like a dream and looks beautiful, too. The price is high, but this is an heirloom piece that will be passed down to my sons. I feel like I can cook anything and clean up is very easy. I highly recommend this product.

I have many Le Creuset pieces and highly recommend them to everyone! I was looking for a larger oval oven. I had the 2.75 quart. I was considering the 5 quart oval oven and am glad I went with the larger 6.75 quart. I can fit a good size roast with vegetables in this one. The 5 quart is probably a better fit for a chicken...it will depend on your needs.

This is the most perfect piece of equipment for the kitchen. It is absolutely worth every penny. And, I know just how many pennies it costs! Nothing sticks to it-EVER. When you brown pancetta, or even bacon, in it-it just dances around the bottom of the pan. It is truly a delight to with which to cook. And, just as Le Crueset says it can go from stovetop to tabletop because it is so nice to look at. And you really CAN leave it out on your stove all the time because it looks so nice.
I know how expensive it is, but anyone who can afford it, should get it. You can use it for so many things, especially this size.

What our Kitchen Experts Say
Dutch ovens are not only great for cooking, but they're also fantastic serving pieces. Cast iron and ceramic retain heat longer than other materials, so they'll help keep your food warm at the table. Your hungry diners can serve themselves family-style, which means less hopping up and down for you. Just be sure to put a trivet under the dutch oven to protect your table from any heat damage.
