Product Description:
The Home Bakery Mini comes with a measuring spoon, measuring cup, instructional video, and a manual/recipe book. It has a user-friendly LCD control panel, cookie/pasta dough setting to prepare homemade cookies and pasta dough, and also bakes cakes. The convenient viewing window allows you to watch the process and its handle makes transporting it easy. The crust control allows you to choose between light and regular crusts. The 13-hour delay timer allows for fresh baked bread in the morning and fresh jams are made in only 90 minutes. The compact design makes it ideal for kitchens with limited counter space and ease of use. With three bread textures to choose from, regular, firm or soft, you can make bread to your liking. The quick baking cycle prepares bread in under 2 hours and a 7-minute power failure backup is a wonderful accessory.

This bread machine works well. This is my first bread machine, so I cannot compare it to others. The size fits great on the counter. I picked this one because of the extra options the $100 range machines did not have. There are not as many recipes available for the 1lb size as there are for the 1 1/2 - 2 lb sizes. The 1lb size is great for a small family.

Compact and Easy to use

For the first time in my life, I have successfully baked a loaf of bread, thanks to this machine. Its sits comfortably in my small kitchen, and it produced a tasty loaf, perfect consistancy. I easily followed the instructions included with the machine. I would recommend to anyone looking for a compact bread machine.

Sweetest Little Breadmaker Around
  Would purchase again
by Cathy (Lethbridge, AB)  1 review(s) 1/4/2008
This is not my first bread maker but it will be my last. We bought the Zojirushi Mini because we didn't need large loaves. Right out of the box the Mini produced beautiful loaves. We get lovely shaped one-pound loaves with perfect crust every time and they just plop out of the baking pan so easily. There are lovely touches all over this machine including the baking pan which is made of actual thick metal and not thin aluminum. The baking pan has serious weight to it and holds its heat beautifully. While you might think the small paddle isn't enough, it is perfect but sometimes gets stuck with crusted bread. A little water will soften that and allow for easy removal. As well, it takes very little space on my kitchen counter. As soon as fresh strawberries hit the grocery store I'll be making jam. Although recipes call for bread flour, in Canada, our regular all-purpose flour is high quality so you don't have to purchase 'bread' flour. Loaves are still beautiful. Don't think I'll be making cakes but will certainly try pasta as I hate kneading that by hand. Over all, this was my best Christmas present this year.

What our Kitchen Experts Say
If you can't finish a fresh-baked loaf of bread within a day or two, slice with a serrated knife and then freeze in a plastic bag. Then, you can just pull out a slice or two to toast whenever you'd like. Using slices of frozen bread is also a great trick when making sandwiches for brown bag lunches. The frozen bread keeps lettuce crisp, and the bread will be perfectly defrosted by lunchtime. Just be sure to wrap in foil, not plastic, so it won't become soggy.
