Product Description:
The first 1,000 customers to order "Feasting on Asphalt, The Complete Second Season: The River Run" will receive a full color map of Alton's journey along the Mississippi. The map measures 18" long and 9" wide, and is printed on heavy paper.

Alton Brown and his crew are mounting their steely steeds once again and scouring the American landscape for honest road food. This time they will trace America’s first superhighway: the Mississippi from the Gulf of Mexico to its Minnesota birthplace. The complete second season is available in a three disc set, with never before seen bonus footage: Each disc includes two segments from Alton’s journey along the Mississippi River that never made it on the air, including his first breakfast on the road, a radio appearance, a visit to a New Orleans gelateria, and more.

Disc One:
  • Episode One: A Strong Brown God
  • Episode Two: Fry Me a River

    Disc Two:
  • Episode Three: Soul Food Survivor
  • Episode Four: Take me to the River

    Disc Three:
  • Episode Five: Mid-American Pie
  • Episode Six: Lutefisk Express

All episodes and never before seen bonus footage closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

    Running Time: 294 minutes.

As with the 1st Feasting series, Alton Brown takes you on a wonderful journey that is part quirky travelogue, part food show, part history lesson, and just plain all around fun to watch ("good eats" for the eyes and brain). Alton is definitely the best thing going on FN right now! Just can't wait until Feasting on Waves comes out. BTW - how about Alton next doing a Feasting series across southern Canada (Vancouver Island to Newfoundland) or Northern Mexico?

I purchased this DVD set (along with the original Feasting on Asphalt) for my husband as a birthday present. We have really enjoyed catching some of the episodes we missed during the original airing. We only wish this one had commentary by Alton as well. However, it's still highly entertaining!

    What our Kitchen Experts Say
A general rule with supermarket shopping is that the more a piece of meat has been fussed with, the more expensive it will be- that's why boneless, skinless chicken breasts are so much more expensive than if you just bought a whole chicken. Save money and buy a whole chicken, then cut up into individual pieces. Freeze what you won't use immediately, then use the carcass to make homemade chicken stock.
