The Stainless Steel Sandwich Spreader blade is made from high alloy carbon stainless steel; tempered, the blade is precision stamped with a laser-controlled cutting edge to ensure effortless cutting. Polypropylene ergonomic black textured handles provide a sure grip and slip resistance. They are dishwasher safe: remove and dry immediately. Blades and handles are matched for perfect balance to minimize fatigue, and offset handles make cutting easier, while ensuring greater durability and the highest edge retention under the most demanding conditions. To gain NSF approval, our cutlery is treated with sanitized antimicrobial protection, which protects the knife handles from bacterial growth. I bought two because I make alot of sandwiches and wanted the right tool for the job. It definitely seems well made and functions well for my purpose.

This spreader was purchased as a gift for a friend who absolutley loves it. He likes the fact that it has a serrated edge for cutting your sandwich after spreading with it.

If you can't finish a fresh-baked loaf of bread within a day or two, slice with a serrated knife and then freeze in a plastic bag. Then, you can just pull out a slice or two to toast whenever you'd like. Using slices of frozen bread is also a great trick when making sandwiches for brown bag lunches. The frozen bread keeps lettuce crisp, and the bread will be perfectly defrosted by lunchtime. Just be sure to wrap in foil, not plastic, so it won't become soggy.
