I love Latin foods, but never knew how to make these dishes. I used to be a cook many years ago, but the dishes that I learned to cook were all American fare type dishes...steak...prime rib...chili...but I never worked in a Hispanic or Latin restaurant. So, although I really enjoyed eating these dishes at other restaurants, I had not learned how to make them myself. It wasn't until I saw Simply Delicioso on the Food Network channel that I realized that these dishes may not be that hard to make. I tried a couple of recipes that I had seen her perform on this show, and they came out quite good! Please don't get me wrong, I am nowhere near a professional chef or cook. That was years ago, and I only cook for friends and family now, but the dishes in this book are easy to make, and they taste great. I would recommend this book to others like myself who have wanted to try Latin dishes, but until now, have not had the nerve to do anything other than tacos!

I love the way Ingrid describes the different foods she uses as well as where to buy them. I have tried several of the recipes and find them to be simple and delicious. I would recommend this cookbook to anyone that wants to try cooking latin food. Very Good.

    What our Kitchen Experts Say
Here's a trick to remember the next time you're cooking with something leafy like cilantro: to quickly separate the leaves from the stems, hold the stems in one hand and shave the leaves off with a super-sharp chef's knife.
