Attempted to use this as a slicer once. It is in the garbage can now.

I added this one to my basket so I can get free shipping. That's all. I like the smell of garlic on my fingers so I am gonna be using a knife to cut my garlic instead of this device. Don't take my word for it, you might be the type of person who might like it. I used it once and I thought it made a mess of my garlic especially on the grating side. You flip the blade and you get the slicing side. It didn't come with instructions. I guess the manufacturer surmised that the average user has enough IQ not to require instruction.

It is a wonderful, easy to operate gadget that makes paper thin slices. It is ideal for making a melt-in-the-mouth sauce for scampi.

What our Kitchen Experts Say
Garlic presses are convenient when you've got lots of garlic that needs to be crushed very fine. Though you still have to peel the garlic, you're still saving yourself lots of knife work. Pressed garlic also cooks more quickly and adds a more subtle flavor than garlic that's been minced with a knife. But because the pieces are smaller, be sure to watch it carefully to make sure it doesn't burn in the pan.
