Product Description:
The Connoisseur Digital Instant Read Thermometer has a unique dot matrix display with 3/8" high digits and shows temperatures from -58 to 446 degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius temperatures from -50 to 230C. The On/Off button and auto off feature conserve battery power and the Hold button will stabilize the temperature reading if desired. It has stainless steel construction with silicone grips for safe and easy handling, while the innovative shape and design ensure that the thermometer will not roll off counters when not in use. The thermometer includes a stem case with a convenient pocket clip.
Our premium line of Connoisseur thermometers represent the epitome of the Taylor reputation. With its distinctive look, this series clings to all things culinary. This line features full stainless steel cases designed with uniquely shaped, oversized dials, which avoid counter roll-off. Plus, the silicone accents around the dials aid in gripability and add a splash of color. All are calibrated with pinpoint accuracy to provide quality results day after day. Heritage, precision accuracy, innovation, style -- no other thermometer line combines all four.

Used it a few times and then it went dead. Okay, replace the battery even though it was only a couple months old. Replacing the battery was an absolute pain to the point of bending the head trying to seperate the item to get to the battery. Clearly not worth the purchase. To me it is clear my thermometer was sitting in some inventory somewhere for a very long time for my battery to go dead so quickly after getting the item. A total waste of money especially having to also pay for shipping on such an item. it is sitting in my drawer dead. To add insult to injury the skewer cover does not even stay on.

It seems like this thermometer cost more than it should have, but the added shipping and handling probably made it seem worse than it actually was. The most notable thing about this product was how IMPOSSIBLE it seemed to be to remove it from it's plastic packaging without BREAKING it!! It was extremely difficult and took a very long time. Apparently, I didn't break mine after all (but it was "iffy"). I still don't understand at all what the four different settings on it mean: sometimes it reads enable; sometimes disable; sometimes on; and sometimes off. Why can't it just be on or off? I have no idea if I'm leaving the thing on and running the battery down. Other than that, it seems to work very well and is easy to read, but it just isn't very attractive at all. It looks like a factory part or something - not something aesthetically pleasing for a modern day kitchen.

I'm happy with the thermometer, was unhappy that I had to pay shipping charges on both items separately, should be able to combine shipping to keep charges lower. Will think seriously about that before ordering anything else from the site.
