Best Grind n' Brew on the Market!
      Would purchase again
    by J. Patrick (Houston, TX)  1 review(s) 5/13/2008
Unlike some of their other products, this is is a real winner (so far) from Krups! It quickly make a perfect pot of coffee. I have had other Krups machines that brewed way too slowly. My only knock on this machine is that the time clock is in Military (24 Hour) Time, which was confusing at first. Being German-made, they obviously haven't started making machines designed for US sales just yet but I'm sure they are on the way!

Much Better than the Cuisinart Grind and Brew
      Would purchase again
    by joseph (Douglassville, PA)  1 review(s) 4/9/2008
I retired the Cuisinart Grind and Brew after it began leaking profusely. So I thought about all of the things I disliked about it besides the leaking at the end.
It had a drippy spout on the thermal pot. It never made hot coffee. Ever. The gound coffee chute got all steamed and built up. Hard to clean.

The Krups addresses it all. The coffee is hot. It's not thermal, but I'll take that chance. The spout does not drip. No more little puddles every time I pour. The grinding chute is mechanically closed once brewing is complete. No steam, no buildup.

Folks have complained of the ambiguous control settings, but you know, I am a creature of habit. Mine is set. I make the same size pot each day with the exact same coffee and I can tell you that it is perfect every time. I recommend this even thouth the price is really high.

    Krups Grind & Brew

I like this coffee maker. I've used it everyday for about a month. I have not had any problem mentioned in other reviews with coffee grinds spraying on the counter during the grinding mode. There is a lot of flexibility in controlling the strength and flavor of your coffee by setting the grind, strength, aroma and cup # in various combinations. I'm still experimenting with different setting combinations and coffee beans to find my favorite. It has churned out some pretty good cups of coffee. I love the automatic setting which I never used on previous coffee makers because I like my beans freshly ground. It's not much bigger than my old coffee maker and has a style that is attractive on my counter. Improvements that could be made include: hotter coffee and the grind dial should indicate whether it goes from fine to coarse or coarse to fine. It just has a series of dots. I kept having to go to the instructions manual to figure it out -which didn't make it very clear either. And the intructional diagrams in the manual are useless. Who draws these things? And worse yet, who approves them?!
