Product Description:
Saffron is the golden stigma of the purple fall crocus and is the world's most expensive spice. The value of this spice is derived from the fact that it is such a labor-intensive crop. Only five to seven pounds of saffron can be produced from each acre of land. The flavor of saffron, however, is very concentrated. One gram of saffron is enough to flavor forty servings of saffron rice or two large batches of paella. Our genuine Spanish saffron comes in a decorative tin.

I use to buy this product in the local stores. Well when I first used this you can I could tell right away the difference, the texture of it is like silk not wood sticks, and when I cooked with it you use much less and the flavor and aroma were fanstatic. I highly reccomend this product. Plus it last a long, long time.

What our Kitchen Experts Say
Yes, it sounds a bit nerdy, but storing your spices in alphabetical order will save time and aggravation when you're in the middle of a recipe and are hunting for a spice.
