Cast iron is desirable for its excellent heat retention and even distribution of heat. For best results, wash the Dutch oven by hand then dry thoroughly.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband and he was absolutely thrilled. So far, he has made two wonderful soups. We were very impressed with how flavorful the soups were and how the dutch oven retained its heat. I plan on making more purchases from The Food Network Store this year! THank you for offering such a fine product at such a very good cost.

The Emerilware dutch oven is great for the the modest price.It performed very well for sauces, chili and baking meats.However, the first time I used it, even though I greased it, the sauce stuck to the bottom and was hard to remove when cleaning.
