Rice Cooker
  Would purchase again
by Shirley (San Francisco, CA)  1 review(s) 6/12/2008
This is a very simple straight forward cooker to use. I like how the cooker keeps the rice warm after its cooked and that the pot is non-stick. I have not used the slow cooking option yet, nor the delayed cooking setting. 2 things bothers me: When I press the buttons, the audible beep is annoyingly loud. The other thing is the metal plate attached under the lid keeps coming off.

This is a great product for any family who eats a lot of rice. We have 10 kids and it makes plenty of rice for us and in a short time. I did find that I have to add a little more water than they recommend or the rice turns out a little too hard. I love that I just throw in the rice and water and just turn it on. The machine determines when it is done and keeps it warm until you need it. Very useful product.

Love the multi-tasking!

I bought this unit recently with little knowledge or information on electric steamers or rice cookers. The lady at Sur La Table was very helpful and guaranteed I would like it or my money back.

Since then, I have used it in all capacities and love it! I read (after the purchase) some great reviews from consumers.

When I found it on cooking.com, I knew it would be a great gift for my mom!

What our Kitchen Experts Say
Curious about the difference between white and brown rice? They're both seeds from the rice plant, but white rice has been polished to remove the germ part of the grain, while brown rice has not. However, the germ contains a lot of dietary fiber, so brown rice is a healthier choice.
