Case in point is their ultra-modern teakettle, re-thought and re-vamped for today's contemporary kitchen. Gone are the bowled edges, replaced by lean lines that tout of European elegance. The only departure to its linear frame are the handles on both kettle and lid, perfectly arched in unison. From their Osiris line, this teakettle holds 2-quarts. Please note: This kettle does not whistle. Safe for use on glass/ceramic stovetops. The handle, made of reinforced nylon, is hinged to the jug in a way that conducts very little heat.

This is a very nice teakettle. I am a regular teakettle buyer so I know the item and various stlyles very well. This kettle is high quality and nice looking. It holds 4 cups, which is enough for two people at a time. If you need more, just boil more water while you drink your first cup. It is thin stainless steel which makes it lightweight. It has a large hole at the spout area which makes it easy to clean because it does not capture the calcuim deposits. The inside stays clean as long as you clean it regularly with a calcium/lime cleaner product, but this is the same as with ALL teapots/kettles, steel or porcelin.
There is a problem with the handle. The puncture holes in the handle are slightly too large which makes the handle drop to one side of the kettle while boiling. (Therefore, the handle gets a little warm, but it cools within a second or two when you lift the handle off the pot). I know the holes are too large because no matter how hard you try to tighten the screw, it does not tighten. This is the only change I would suggest.
The price is also a little high for such a small kettle.
Overall I am very glad I purchased this kettle.

Bad Bodum

Having several other Bodum products, I was sure this Teakettle would be a winner. NOT.

The handle gets extremely hot to the point of needing a potholder to pour.

The pour spout gets so hot that when you go to pour, when the water first hits the pur spout it spits and steams all over the place. I have to pour some boiling water out of the kettle into the sink before attempting to pour into a cup.

It's also not capable of holding the advertised 2 quarts of water. If you put in 2 quarts and it comes to a boil, it spits water all over the stove.

I am VERY disappointed.
