My mom bought my dad, my husband and our son each one of these for Christmas. We bought this one for a good friend for his birthday. They all think this is a great grilling tool. They are all grilling enthusiasts which makes it great for the women in the family who aren't kitchen enthusiasts! We would highly recommend this product.

It works
by Sara, OH
September 5, 2011

I didn't want both of these and saw no need for the wooden box (which isn't very nice), so thought it was a little overpriced, but I solved that problem by giving the long one to my son-in-law who BBQ's a lot. It actually works very well turning things over in the skillet. Suggestion: There is a little clear curved tube that protects the point. It is difficult to get back on and it's clear so I'd lose it in a day anyway. I use a wine cork and that works well

Nice.... but watch out the hook is sharp
by Kimberly, OH

This hook reminds me of a suture needle... a very large and sharp one. This product works well, but you just want to be very cautious using it as you could hurt someone easily.

The pigtails are a great BBQ tool. I gave them as Christmas gifts and the presentation in the wood box was a nice touch.

Do Flips for This
by Amy, AR
February 9, 2007

My brother was more excited about this than anything else he opened from me under the tree. A barbeque fanatic, this is a handy tool for the one who seems to have all the tricks and tools for the trade. Most people think of the basic grilling sets, but he was really excited about having this tool on hand.

Pig Tail Food Flipper
by Pamela, TX
January 9, 2009

I bought 2 of these as gifts & have heard nothing but good things about them. The smaller sized one has been great for indoor cooking too. And the gift box is worth the additional money to help in accident prevention since these are very sharp. The only improvement would have been if this site would have sold the left-handed version. I certainly would have bought one for myself too.

Pig Tail Flippers
by Linda , MN
October 5, 2009

I purchased the Pig Tail flipper for my husband who does most of the grilling at our home. I tried it while cooking some steaks, and I was very surprised at how easy it was to use. I watched the video and tried the moves myself. The flipper grabbed the steaks and held on until I turned the steaks and twisted it off. Because there were 2 Pig Tail Flippers (large and small) I thought that I could use the smaller one for inside cooking. I liked the product very much.

Pigtail - one twist does it
by P., NY
June 19, 2009

Pick it up with a twist, lay it down with a twist.

About the only thing you can not use it on are soft items like Hamburgers or fish.
Veggies - great.
Steaks - perfect.
Hot dogs, Sausages, etc - you bet.

Because it is so easy and quick to turn the food, I loose less heat. Meaning I cook faster.

I purchased one for my sisters B'day and she loves it.

BBQ Best Tool

I have had this kind of barbeque tool for years, and decided to get a set for my brother. He loves them! These are so easy to use, and clean up and storage are a snap. It is nice to have the two different sizes.

Pig tail has me doing flips!
by Lyndon, CA
January 26, 2012

I always had problems flipping food with a standard spatula/flipper. All I seemed to do was push the food around the grill, griddle, or pan, before awkwardly getting the food to flip over. With the Original Pig Tail Food Flipper, turning food is a lot easier. At first, I was a little concerned that the business end of the pig tail would pierce my steaks and allow all the juices to run out, but that was not the case. The pig tail makes cooking a lot easier.

You could definately injure someone with these - the box is a nice touch, but they probably won't live in it for long.

I purchased two, one for my husband and on for my son. The gifts were perfect for them. They used them the same day and use everytime they BBQ.
Would recommend to anyone who BBQs. Flipper and case were excellent quality.

The pigtail is great! It flips chicken, ribs and just about anything else you want to cook. Wish I would have got it as a gift instead of buying it for myself. This would make an ideal Christmas gift.

Handy Tool!
by Dana, OK
September 7, 2011

I bought the first set for my husband to use on the grill. I confiscated the smaller of the two right away for use in the kitchen. I cannot tell you how many kitchen forks I have bought all of which did not release the food easily. The pig tail food flipper even turns big roasts with no problem and the release is perfect. I have now bought three more sets to give as Christmas presents this year.
