The large capacity of this roaster allowed me to slow roast a pork and a beef roast together for a sizable crowd. Both meats came out tender and juicy and done in the time the manual stated. The surface material made clean-up a breeze and the vent in the cover prevented too much steam from accumulating which can sometimes burn your hands or face when lifting the lid.
We were having a huge crowd for Thanksgiving so I needed a big turkey (23#s); my dilema was having the oven tied up all day with a turkey and trying to keep other dishes hot, so I purchased this roaster. It was fantastic.<br>The turkey cooked in about 3.5 hours, sooner than I thought, so I kept it on 200 degrres to maintain until we were ready to serve. It was so moist and delicious. The only downside was that the skin did not get as crispy as I would have liked. The clean up was a breeze!! I highly recommend this roaster. I can't wait to use it again!!
The capacity of this roaster is great for big gatherings or for pre-cooking/freezing. I did three big roasts at one time on the lift-up rack (included) They came out juicy, but easy to cut with a fork. I also did two whole chickens and later a turkey....all of them for different food applications. For example: The turkey was used for freezing turkey and gravy, turkey sandwiches, turkey rolls, turkey and stuffing. When I have a cook/freeze day to make my busy days no-cooking days....this roaster was not only a big help, but it served me well. I recommend this roaster. The lift-out rack, the lift-out pan, were easily cleaned. It sits on my counter as a breadbox now until the next big cook day. For those of you who will use it occasionally, it can be easily covered and put in a safe place such as a basement or garage. This one is worth your money.<br>Don't forget to cook out the smoke before you use it. That was the only part I hated. The smell was awful. I had to move it to the garage....but so well worth the succulent food you can cook for big get-togethers or the time and money you'll save cooking all things at once!
The reason I think the price is a little high is:A non-teflon one you can purchase is only about $40.
I made a perfect turkey in this oven. I had read reviews that said it “steams” the meat… which I did NOT find to be true. I cooked the turkey on a very high setting at the start and end of the cooking time and got a perfectly cooked and well browned turkey, with out heating up my small kitchen. I bought the Nonstick cookwell model and it cleaned up easy.

Despite what you might think, washing chicken before cooking is not a good idea- it will just get bacteria all over the sink. Properly cooking it- to an internal temperature of 180 degrees F in the thigh- kills all the bacteria.
