This effective and simple to use sharpener is suitable for all knives except those that are sharpened on one side only. It consists of two ceramic wheels - a white one that's coarse and a pink one that completes the sharpening process. The extra large ceramic wheels sharpen the maximum surface area of the blade at the perfect angle for a longer lasting razor sharp edge. It also operates with the use of water which keeps the ceramic wheels rinsed. Once filled with water, hold the sharpener flat on your countertop, firmly gripping one side to keep it steady. Holding the knife with your other hand, position the blade perpendicular into the groove with the white coarse wheel and move back and forth. Repeat with the pink finishing wheel. No heavy pressure is necessary. After sharpening, hand wash knife in hot water and dry completely. The ceramic sharpening wheels are less abrasive than electric sharpeners. Plus its easy and quick to use. This sharpener can be used on both Japanese and Western knives.

Works great on my Global knives.
This is listed as a ceramic knife sharpener. But this is not meant to sharpen ceramic knives, it only contains ceramic elements.
Sharpener works well, once you get the hang of it. A good solution if you dont want to spend time whetting knives with a traditional stone.
This product is easy to use. It automatically sets the blades at the corret angle for shapening. I am very satisfied with it.
I have not used it yet, but I was suprised for the cost that it did not seem as sturdy and what I would have expected. The body is made of plastic, which was a suprise. If it performs as good as advertised it will fit my needs, but I felt it is overpriced.
Works as described and less expensive and more convenient than taking them out to be sharpened.
It seems (after one use) to restore the edge to our Global knives.

It will take some time to discern the durability of the edge and how often we need to use the sharpener.
I bought this knife sharpner to replace one I broke. I was not impressed with the way it sharpen my knife. It may be because of the condition of the knife, but the cut was dull and offcentered. I do like that the sharpner is compact and easy to use. It also has a cool design, but the verdict is still pending on whether or not its a good knife sharpner.
I found that the sharpner worked will on my ceramic knives. Although it took a couple times to get the knack of sharpening it was well worth the price paid.

Contrary to what you might think, a sharp knife is actually safer than a dull knife. The important thing to remember when chopping and cutting is to let the knife do the work for you. A sharp knife allows you to do that, but a dull knife requires you to exert more pressure to get the job done, which means your hand has a greater chance of slipping.
