Sometimes the larger Cuisinart is a little more than you need. That's where this Mini-Prep Plus food processor comes in, with a 4-cup capacity work bowl perfect for all those small preparation tasks like chopping an onion or nuts, mincing herbs or making fresh salsa. It has two speeds (Chop and Grind) for maximum control. Plus, it has an auto-reversing SmartPower blade and a reversible motor, so you can switch from chop to grind without interrupting the flow. It offers the same quality and modern design you've come to appreciate from Cuisinart.
Like the larger bowl, the easier method for locking the bowl onto the machine. Still don't like how it chops most items well enough but still leaves a few bigger chunks.
A great alternative when I dont need the big food processor. Great for pulsing ingredients for salsas and sauces. Does not take up much room on my countertop.
I own a 3-c Cuisnart mini-prep in brushed stainless steel, so I was disappointed when I received the 4-c mini chopper, not in brushed stainless steel but shiny SS. It looks and feels like plastic. I gave it a 3 star rating, because I have reservations it will last as long as my 3-c. I've had my 3-c mini chopper for more than 5 yrs.
It's not metal, it's plastic. The advert is misleading. After just a few batches of dried peppers, the container interior is scratched to opacity...soft plastic? I removed all stems before chopping and have already had to touch up the very thin blade. <br>I like it, it works, but I don't think it is up to what I, at least, have come to expect as Cuisinart quality.
I have a very limited space for appliances. I had a much smaller food chopper that broke. I did not want a full size, heavy food processor so I purchased this. I am delighted with it. The bowl is the perfect size for my needs. It is easy to assemble and lock in place, and fits in the dishwasher too. It chops and grinds better than some of the larger choppers. I recommended it to a friend who was looking for a chopper also. If you need a chopper that is easy to use and takes up little space, this is the one for you.

Use a mini food processor for small batches of food like pesto, or simply for everday use when you don't want to haul out the big food processor. They're also great for chopping nuts for baking bread or cookies- just be sure not to pulse for too long, or you'll end up with nut butter!
