"In 2007 I met the designers of Ergo Chef at a gourmet show. I used the cutlery on stage during my demo and was given a set to take home. After a year of wear and tear in my kitchen - trust me it can be a knife gauntlet - I was hooked on the quality and design of Ergo Chef’s product. Before I knew it, I was teaming up with them to develop my own collection. We sketched a range of designs lookin’ for the select few that really rocked technically and aesthetically!
I’m a Hot Rod guy who knows that in order to do car-building right, you need high quality performance parts. The same idea applies to cooking, so the right knives are key. My product features a combination of the best materials with a design that will blow your mind! As a chef, restaurant owner, and TV personality, I have high expectations for my equipment and these knives meet and exceed all of them." - Guy Fieri
This 5.5-in. Serrated Utility Knife was designed for slicing small fruits, veggies, cheese, breads and sandwiches. It has fork prongs on the tip to pick up food. Guy's Knuckle Sandwich logo is distressed and permanently etched on the blade. The black handle also boasts a flame-waved design, and the star is added to complete Guy's signature look.

I'm very happy with this knife. Very functional and easy to hold. The only downside is that it's so different looking from a standard knife, not to mention very, very sharp, that the rest of my family is afraid to use it. ;-]
I'm very experienced with knives, over 40 years. This knife requires a special technique (practice). Making a straight cut with this wasn't as easy as my other knives. It tends to cut into the cutting board, too. I like my traditional knives better. Since I retired, I've started a large collection. This is best used a collectible. By the way, this is beautifully made, just not my cup of tea
This is the first disappointing product I have purchased from Food Network Store. I do not like the heft of this knife. I always turn to my other knives first. Also, it is slightly too short for most tasks. I have been using it to cut sandwiches, and slice when I have small tasks, but a cleaver or small chef's knife works better. Because the knife is so short, they should have left off the stabbing tips and given me another inch of cutting surface.
This knife is good for cutting sandwiches, but that is a pretty specific use for a high priced knife. I find I don't use it a lot. I thought I would use it for slicing tomatoes but so far not. It is good for pulling pickles out of a jar to slice, but really, it's a gimick, so if your budget is tight, go for one of the other knives in the set. THe large chopping knife is very worthwhile to own and use.
