OXO Mandoline

This is a marvelous product. For the price it's a terrific buy. It's well made, very sturdy and good looking enough to have a permanent spot on my countertop. I use it almost daily.

The ease of cleaning was an unexpected plus. I'll look to OXO for other products now.

The Mandoline Slicer was a gift

I gave the item to my son, who has been in the chefing industry for 20 years. I asked him how he liked the mandoline slicer and he was very pleased. He told me it was the best one he has worked with and he has worked with many at different jobs over the years.

I got this mandoline for my mom for mothers day and it was so bad that I am returning it. If you want to have julienne cut carrots you might as well just get out the knife and do it yourself!

I am attracted to gimmicky products, most of which either don't work very well or are so much trouble to clean that I'd rather do the chore manually. The mandoline is a magnificent exception. It slices everything I've tried so far really fast and much thinner than I can do by hand. It disassembles in seconds and is easy to fit in the dishwasher. I'm getting ready to sort out kitchen gadgets for the church rummage sale, but I'll be keeping this one!!!

Total disappointment. I read every one of the reviews for this product and all the other mandolines and had very high expectations. While not high end, Oxo products normally work well. I would return this product if I hadn't thrown away the box. For half what I paid it would be overpriced!

It is easier and safer to use than a real french mandoline and costs a lot less. It has a great stand, so you don't have to hold the mandoline up, like some cheaper models.

The slicer is very well made but not very well engineered. Since the blade is straight across it tends to smash whatever you are slicing. My old V slicer worked a lot better for half the price. It seems to me that if they had put the blade on an angle the smashing problem would be eliminated.

Outperforms the more expensive "fancy" mandolines. It is easier to use and clean but be careful those blades are super sharp.

This slicer hasn't been put away for a full day since I got it! I use it daily for any number of things and it has been very handy. I've used it for potatoes (French fries, ripple-cut cottage fries), onions, salad fixings and more. It has done a great job on everything I have tried. It's a lot more convenient than pulling out the food processor and cleaning it up again!

This tool is extremely versatile. It can slice at varying levels of thickness, as well as waffle cuts, julienne, etc. The pronged holder is also very convenient.

Been toying with buying a steel mandoline, but have always been VERY happy with Oxo products, decided to go with this one. It is remarkably easy to use and even easier to clean up and that from one of the few people left on the planet without a dishwasher! Stores intact and is easy to hang from a hook for easy access. Great product at a great price!
