I am not a professional chef yet I do love to cook. I also enjoy most of the cooking shows on TV which is where I noticed the use of the chef's knife. Since receivivg my knife I have used it almost every day and found it to be so much better than any of my other knifes. I do use the steel on it each time but the blade seems to hold it's sharpness with little effort on my part with the steel.
The blade rusts if left too long around water... I left a little bit of water on it when I put it in the sheath, and when I pulled it out a couple of days later... Rust spots! Not hard to get out, but still... This knife should not be rusting that easily! Highly disappointed with that and if it didn't cut so well, I would have rated it a 1.
This knife is great, easy to handle and easy to use.
I bought this as a gift for my son-in-law. It is such a nice knife. Great weight, balance, and overall feel. My biggest regret is that I don't buy more. It's all I can do to not keep it for myself
