Your hands are your most valuable kitchen tools, so why not give them the ultimate in protection? Proven in restaurant kitchens, Cool Touch Flame® Mitts offer superior three-layer protection from flash flames, steam and hot liquids. The mitt's outer layer is 100 percent non-combustable Nomex, the fabric used in firefighter apparel, so you know your hands are safe from flames. Two interior layers prevent penetration of steam and hot liquids and stop heat transfer when the glove is wet. Cut and Tear resistant, the Cool Touch Flame® mitt ensures your hand's safety in the kitchen, at the barbecue or by the fireplace. Machine washable.

I bought 2 of these mitts because my old ones were shot. I don't like most of the mitts you can get in department stores because they wear out in no time flat. I suspect the quilting doesn't help them, and they're usually filled with some synthetic fabric, and not much of it. These Kool-tek mitts are awesome! I use my oven a lot and now I don't have to be afraid to put my hands in to pull out pans.

These are wonderful! No more burned fingers from heat penetrating your oven mitts! Not even steam seems to penetrate them. It's good to know that when you pull something from the oven, the only thing you need worry about is where you're going to put it down.

Kool-tek is a must have. It protects as it says and is easy to slip on quickly, a feature I like since I injured my wrist.

Good product, but to hold heavy pan, etc you really need 2 mitts!

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

If you're basting your meat with sugary sauces (like most barbecue sauces), do it at the very end of the cooking process, so the meat has a chance to cook through before the sugars in the sauce burn.
