I made the Triple Chocolate Chunk IC form the recipe book that came with the icecream attachment. The Ic turned out great-very rich. The process was just a bit messy. The drive assembly and dasher are kinda tricky. When the IC started freezing, the mechanism started to click (maybe the two pieces were not fully engaged).

The ice cream attachment is a welcome addition to the Kitchen Aid Mixer. I have enjoyed the service from this machine for 23 years and will not switch brands if this one ever faiols to work. I know I wll have the same superior service from the attachment. The only thing I find a bit annoying is the freezing requirement. I have to store it in the basement freezer because of space.

Small capacity and takes up a lot of room in the freezer; otherwise, useful and a good way to have homemade ice cream without the need for annoying machines and salt.

Cooking Tip From the Food Network Kitchens

Stand mixers can definitely be tough to manuever sometimes, so for easy cleanup and transportation, keep your mixer on a tray or cookie sheet. This will make it easier to move around your countertop, and if you make any mess, you can just wash the tray.
