Got this on a double 20% off sale - so 36% off altogether at $64. We've used it to make one batch of ice-cream so far and it did it without fuss or effort.
I love this Ice Cream maker -- I have had others but this one is easy to use and I love that it is another KA Mixer attachment. I have had it for a week and made three different types of ice cream. One reason I bought it is I wanted to be able to use different sweeteners and "milk" and be creative with what I make myself. This is perfect and I just keep the bowl in the freezer at all times -- at the ready! :-)
It was disappointing that the ice cream maker can't firm up the ice cream more than we would like. If soft serve is to your liking, than this attachment is what you need. Otherwise, don't expect firm ice cream.
We made the French Vanilla Ice Cream for our first batch. The grandchildren were over for a sleepover and helped make the batter and had fun watching the magical formation of ice cream in the freeze bowl the next day. We served it right out of the bowl as soft serve, my favorite. It was absolutely yummy and a big success! The directions for the batter and the assembly of the ice cream maker attachment were clear and concise. We hadn't made homemade ice cream in years, but I'm sure we will make it often with this amazing attachment.
It fit my new kitchen aide mixer and had no problem making excellant ice cream which was enjoyed last evening.
Smaller that I thought it would be, but great attachment to my Kitchen Aid. Saves you the money of having to buy an entire ice cream maker. Making ice cream at home was super easy! I store it in the freezer for future use.
This is a great product. Very easy to use and makes wonderful ice cream. What a treat!
I enjoyed making our first ice cream. The prep work can be intensive when making ice cream but using the kitchen aid was a snap. Loved it.
I was so excited to get my ice cream maker! First : on sale is the only way to buy this. It is a good buy at 79.99 or less. Second: I would have been even happier if it stayed cold longer. As it is it works well enough to get just to a soft serve, very soft serve stage. All in all I am happy with it and have used it twice in a 3 weeks time frame.
We have been eyeing this ice cream maker for some time. Held off. But when it went on sale on cooking.com we bit. Made our 1st batch of sorbet that weekend. Came out GREAT! Easy to use. Easy to clean. Great purchase!
this is the best ice cream maker I ve owned so far. I love it.
I love it, I've been able to make sugar free versions of almost all my favorites using this attachment to my mixer. Also like the size of the bowl, it makes more at one time than any other ice cream maker I have bought and gotten rid of because they didn't work as good as I hoped and were more trouble then they were worth. This seems to do a great job and I like the texture.
I am happy to have an ice cream maker that fits on my mixer. It should eliminate an appliance for me. I was, however, disappointed that the ice cream was incredibly soft. I had to put it in the freezer to get it anywhere close to the point I could serve it. I followed the recipe exactly and the ice cream was delicious - just extremely soft. It did freeze well and kept well. I have used other freezers that use the frozen bowl method. They seemed to freeze the ice cream more solidly. However, they did not make as big a batch of ice cream as this one makes. Since I usually plan ahead when I'm making ice cream, making it in advance and putting it in the freezer is not an issue for me. I keep the bowl in my freezer so I am ready to make ice cream at any time. Who is not up for a little inconvenience when it comes to the deliciousness of home-made ice cream!
I have been wanting to get one of these for about six years, but at first money was a problem at the time and then I became homeless and still am these past three years, but the sale price was so good, I just had to get it now. It will go in my storage with the rest of my life and hopefully I will get a place to live soon and then I will get to try it out. I can't wait!!!
This was the fastest and easiest way I have ever made ice cream. Make sure to read directions and have the bowl totally frozen and you will have ice cream in 20 minutes tops. It is great.
I finally broke down and purchased the Ice Cream maker and I am very happy that I did! It makes a lot of Ice Cream, which surprised me. I have had other ice cream makers and they did not make near the amount. I used one of the recipes in the book and it came out beautifully!
It works well when you freeze the bowl for at least 48 hours before making ice cream.
I had been wanting this for years -- finally got one and LOVE IT !! I can have homemade ice cream in the WINTER now even -- without all the churning and rock salt -- it's GREAT !!!
I'm always stuck for a great anniversay gift for my son and his wife. Their favorite thing is ice cream. They live in a rural area of New Hampshire and were delighted when a couple of locals opened an ice cream shop several years ago which they frequented often. When shop closed for good last Fall they were so disappointed. Grocery store ice cream is not for them. This ice cream making attachment for there stand mixer was the best anniversary gift ever. Works great. Allows them to play with flavors using locally grown fruits like blueberries and apples and using there home raised free range chicken eggs. I done good...and so did you by offering the ice cream maker at an affordable discount. Thank you for rescuing me.

Stand mixers can definitely be tough to manuever sometimes, so for easy cleanup and transportation, keep your mixer on a tray or cookie sheet. This will make it easier to move around your countertop, and if you make any mess, you can just wash the tray.
