This is truly the supreme bread machine! The Zojirushi offers advanced options for your bread baking. It gives you the choice of using the dough cycle by itself, then finishing in your regular oven. In addition, you can make dough for crisp pizza crust, light dinner rolls, mouth-watering cinnamon rolls, hamburger or hoagie buns, artisan breads, sourdough, gluten-free breads and cakes - the possibilities are endless. It even makes fruit jam and has the power and durability for hearty whole grain dough. Twin paddles provide superior kneading action so you get well-raised breads with great texture.

To use, simply place your unmixed ingredients in and choose your setting. The machine alerts you once your bread is ready. The control panel is set at the perfect angle for easy viewing, and the bigger-than-ever window lets you see what's happening inside. With this model, you can open the lid during operation, for adding fruits and nuts without resetting the cycle (it keeps running with the lid open). Choose from a full set of pre-programmed cycles for a variety of breads or create your own custom cycles. You can also program in your own favorite recipes for later use. Recipe & instructions booklet included.

This item was rated the best by all consumer reviews and magazines and I would agree. It's the first bread machine we have owned. It's extremely easy to operate and the fresh bread is absolutely terrific. We have used the timer function once so the bread would be warm when we woke up the next morning. The size of the loaf is shaped a lot like bread you buy at the store except it's a little taller than most store bought breads. This product is defintely worth the extra cost to purchase.

I was nervous at first because of all the choices, but after seeing the video and reading the manual, I tried it. It works terrific and the bread comes out perfect. It is much quieter than the previous machine. I LOVE IT!

This is easy to use. Just measure and go. The texture of the bread is really nice and toasts up beautifully. The only bad thing is that the recipes that come with the machine have no taste.

This is a fantastic aid in the kitchen. It has multiple
features that make it the best buy available in bread
machines. The 2lb loaf size is excellent for a large
family. The texture of the bread produced and the
varieties available are excellent. It cleans up well
and allows easy removal of a hot pan.

The Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme Bread Machine is everything that I hoped it would be. I've made several loaves of bread in the week that I've had it and it performed perfectly. The timer function, which allows us to have freshly baked bread waiting for us when we wake in the morning is especially convenient. I have a long list of breads that I want to try, but we can only eat bread so fast. I'm looking forward to a lot of fresh baked bread.

This machine is convenient to use and produces acceptable breads. However, the consistent dryness and hard crustiness of my initial breads was only solved after an extensive search of available internet and Betty Crocker hardcover data (none provided by Zojirushi) that indicated that adding 1 Tbsp of additional water would help it did! The misshapen loaves I made were only solved by setting the mixing blades in opposite directions, a fun filled fact omitted from the Zoji handbook. After making several bricks, my results began to improve and we now look forward to our favorite recipes.

Fabulous!!

I love this bread maker. It is easy to use, does all the work and produces some of the best bread I have ever eaten. I bought a couple of bread maker cook books and no matter what recipe I use it turns out exactly as it should. I am so glad that I went to the extra expense. The dual arms that mix up and kneed everything give me a much better quality dough and I love having a

This is the king of breadmakers. I have been making bread 3 to 5 times per week for the last 11 years. We haven't bought bread for over ten years. In the last 11 years I have owned three other machines. Two of them last over 3 years each and one fell of the kitchen counter after just a few months. This is my fourth machine and quite clearly the best.
The machine is very sturdy. You can feel the quality jusb y picking it up. Two of my previous machines are still operational, but in both cases the single beater was the cause of their demise. The gasket and shaft just plain wore out. The machine has a double beater!
The addition of being able to set a timer to make dough is a huge improvement. I make pizza dough almost every Tuesday, and now I can set the timer and have the dough ready when I come home. I also make baugettes in the oven. With the dough timer, I can now have them for breakfast!
The results have been consistently excellent. I think the pre-heat cycle is a great idea and improves the quality.
Lastly, the traditional shape is nice. After years of "tall" loafs, and square sandwiches, you forget why bread is long and not tall!
I would recommend this machine to anyone who bakes more than one or twice a week. You will enjoy the quality and the convenience of this machine.

This machine makes excellent bread. I use a homemade cycle and set my kitchen timer to ring at the start of rise 2 (final rise) so that I can remove the kneading paddles before the loaf bakes. This makes removing the loaf at the end of the cycle much easier and less destructive to the bottom of the loaf. I've used the dough cycle and love the quality of the rolls. I've also made jam with good results. Overall, I am very pleased with the machine.

Back to the Best

After my original Zo gave up after six years of faithful service I researched replacements and decided to try another (and less expensive) machine based on reviews and the novel idea that it would give me convection baking. I spent two years regretting my decision, trying to adapt recipes, and enjoying less than ideal results (and yes, before you take me to task, I know to watch and adjust the amount of liquid or flour, also I know how to read recipes and follow them, and read the manual thoroughly). When that machine began to have serious motor problems I couldn't wait to rectify my mistake.
The updated version of my old Zo is quieter, has a stronger motor, a wonderful heavy gauge pan, and the double paddles which mix the ingredients thoroughly (nothing left sticking to bottom or sides) seem to stick up into the baked loaf less than the old paddles (but I'm not sure). I love not having to warm the ingredients before adding, as the Zo has a warmup phase that takes care of it to the optimum temperature.
Best of all, the breads are wonderful. White, whole wheat, French, even the artisan doughs - best results I've ever had from a bread machine!

This is my first bread machine and I'm sure it will probably be my last! I love it! I appreciate the window and angled shape of the lift up door, and I like the easy to use keypad and instructional manual. The first bread I tried (a whole wheat recipe) turned out great, high and lofty but still with the characteristic chewiness of a 100% whole wheat loaf. I like the normal shape of the loaf this machine produces as well, rather than the square towerlike loaves some bread machines turn out. My husband gave the bread two thumbs up so I guess I'll include that here as well. :) Finally, I would recommend using King Arthur's all-natural White Whole Wheat flour for best results - it is made from white winter wheat so it's softer and lighter than a standard wheat flour ground from hard red wheat, but it still has all the fiber of a

I liked it and would buy it again

I liked the Zojirusha bread machine a lot once I tried it several times and got to understand it from use.

I wish they would put more information in the book about how the machine works.

(1) There was no information about the preheating part not working if it was 80 degrees in the house, so it took me several tries to find that out since this was not covered in the book. I kept waiting for the preheating to start working.

(2) Also they didn't tell you that you can't use the crust control with the wheat dough settings.

I really wish they had more recipes for the Zojirushi bread machine in the book or a website where I could get them.

Big Mistake
by Janice, MN
October 15, 2008

This bread machine is the biggest mistake I have ever made. No matter what setting I use, the crust is burned and hard and the top never browns at all. The bread is dry and coarse. I have tried several recipes and even used a mix and it still didn't turn out. I am thinking all the good reviews it had must not come from real people. I sure was fooled by them. I would NOT recomment this product and I certainly would never buy another one. This is not my first bread machine and I do know how to cook!

We never wanted a bread machine (seemed faddish to us), but the growing encroachment of guar gum and diary products into commercial breads gave us no choice. After a good deal of research, we settled on this Zojirushi 2-pounder model. And we're glad we did! Three main reasons: (1) making bread w/ this machine is surprisingly easy, (2) we have complete control over the ingredients, and (3) the bread is consistently delicious. This purchase has been a good investment for us.

Wow! This is my third bread machine. I bake a lot and wear them out. I never actually bake the bread in the machine as I prefer the 'home-baked' look so I mostly use the dough cycle. I have loved them all but this one is my favorite, hands down! It's easy to use, easy to clean, and I have fallen for the sour dough cyle! My favorite recipes are turning out better than ever. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Best Machine to Make Gluten Free Bread
by Laurie, PA
April 12, 2008

The Zo is probably the best machine available when it comes to making Gluten Free bread. The machine has two paddles and, in addition to the regular programmed settings has the ability to remember 3 home made programs, important because most Gluten Free bread recipes only call for one rise. I make one loaf every week and they have all come out well. I would recommend this machine to anyone who enjoys fresh baked bread and highly recommend it to people who need to make Gluten Free bread.

I owned a Zo bread machine for nearly 15 years, the same one mind you, and I never had anything go wrong with it until mid September 2006. It was something that was not repairable. So I just bought another Zo - with no hesitation. I always recommend this machine to anyone who is looking to buy one. Also, my sister is getting married in the spring and I am giving her one as a shower gift.

Disaster both efforts. A huge mistake.

I can't imagine how others had such good results. I called the information line, made the changes, and still a horrible mess...so much waste of flour and other ingredients and time. I did everything, even weighed the flour, and still terrible loaves... hard as rock, lumpy, ugly and so sad. I feel quite outraged that I succombed to the good reviews on your website.
As it happens, I am not professional, but I review cookbooks and equipment so I am rather experienced and not an amateur. All that training didn't help when it came to this machine.

Zojirushi Bread Machine
by Hank, NY
April 16, 2007

Over the years, we have owned approximately six different bread machines. This unit, while not as robust as our Dak Heavy Duty bread-bot, does a better job of kneading and baking than any of the others. It's also quite quiet.
